every single human on this planet is born as a citizen of a country... depending on the source, the world has either 189, 191, or 192 countries... each has their own set of laws... some socialistic, communistic, republics, democracies...

there are basic rights that are guaranteed to humans... but, one of them is NOT that they can choose to live wherever they want, whenever they want... we can ask to change where we live... there are channels that someone can go through to get where they want... we may or may not believe that they are right, but it is up to each of those countries to be able to set their laws to be what they feel is right for them, as a nation...

america is a place that many ppl want to come to... we have a higher standard of living than most anywhere on earth... but it is NOT a god given right to each individual born to this earth that they can live in this country as they please... its just not... that is why when someone breaks the laws of immigration, they are considered ILLEGAL... meaning against the law... criminal... wrong... rationalize it however you want... breaking the law = illegal... pretty simple...

and before anyone asks, if my family were starving, NO, i wouldnt steal a loaf of bread... i would go to one of the many charities that i have given to/worked with and asked for help... i would find it somewhere... i have many kind and generous friends... and no... that doesnt mean rich... it just means that we take care of each other

do i sympathize with ppl who have a hard life elsewhere... yes, i certainly do... how can we help? by just opening our borders and letting anyone from anywhere that wants to come in to do so, not requiring them to be fully functioning members of society, meaning that they do not have the protections or responsibilities to give back to our society? no... thats not an answer... without the background checks, etc that we are paying for and waiting for with our cases going thru the USCIS, what protection do we have that those coming in illegally will not be detrimental to us? i mean by more than costing more money than they bring... i mean by the fact that they could be murderers running from their own govt... terrorists who have gone to mexico or canada to cross over to america because its easier to get in illegally that way... and those who truly just want a better life, why settle for the life of an illegal? if its done legally, then you have no fear... you can actually make a fair wage and be treated with respect and hold your head high... all those jobs that folks say americans wont do... its because those employers dont want to pay a fair wage or benefits... the employers can exploit them with no fear of retribution... is it helpful to these ppl to allow them to be in those situations? i will pay more for my lettuce/shirts/whatever if i know that folks arent being exploited

our laws are in place to not just keep others out or make life miserable for those who want to come here... they are in place to protect our own citizens... to be able to help guarantee that USCs retain the rights that they WERE born to... if a USC doesnt think those laws are fair, then they can work to try to change them... but when is it fair for someone who is NOT a citizen to have the cajones to think they have the rights to change the laws of a country they are disrespecting by breaking the law as soon as they step foot across the border? do i try to tell canada where they need to change laws? hell no... what place would i have to do that? oh wait, our illustrious dubya DOES think we can meddle in the laws of other countries...

all the energy focused on trying to get to america... all the rage focused on trying to stay here... what would happen if those illegals actually tried to change things in their own respective countries? what a concept... dont like the way things are in your own country? FIX IT! you cant tell me that 12 million strong couldnt change things in their own countries... instead of running, stay and face it... and FIX IT... wanna be proud to wave your country's flag... then be proud enough to care enough to make a difference and make life better there... dont run to another country illegally and then wave your flag around demanding the rights that are given to citizens and those here legally... its positively ARROGANT and PREPOSTEROUS...

as someone who waited and filed all the forms and paid all the fees to be able to have my beloved immigrate here and be with me, it angers me to no end that folks can think they can come here illegally and just sit out and wait for an amnesty... and it PI$$ES me off to the extreme that the government of this country thinks its ok to basically say "** YOU" to the lawabiding citizens and immigrants and that the governments of those countries with the higher number of illegals dont give a ####### about their own citizens

Illegal is illegal, I agree with you.

But why direct your anger at illegal immigrants? People will usually break the law if they believe the consequences of doing so are outweighed by the benefits. That is a fact.

Direct your anger at your government that has studiously avoided creating consequences for illegal migration.

They are about to get amnesty, if our President has his way. What kind of consequence is that?

I somewhat agree with you. But there are Afghans (some not all) who come here LEGALLY and sit on their lazy arses collecting their checks that are deducted from my employment with no means of contributing anything to society and their lives as educated human beings. Now THAT pisses me off. I can't tell you the numerous times I have preached to these people about how people are dying for the right to access free education...but it goes in one ear and out the other. Arrgghhh...I want to slap them all silly...

But yes I agree that if they want to be here then apply like the rest of us...and do it the legal way...

If you wish to immigrate to the US, you have a basic right to appeal to your friendly consular office, who is appointed by God.

i'll just say this

prove that illegal immigration has slowed family visa petitions or will make the process faster if they deport everybody.. until then.. there's no reason to blame them... blame the understaffing and how HS poorly manages USCIS

Deporting everyone would slow it all down too. Can you imagine doing paperwork for 11 million people? Sheesh

Illegal is illegal. Not all who commit illegal acts are criminals. I don't agree with amnesty, but I do support the reform that hopefully will take place because it has the potential to shorten our waiting time from insanely long to ridiculously long. I'm one of those doing it "the right way" whatever that means, who the reform will help. Should I not get that help? Was a month of living with Javier in jail and 3 years of separation not enough punishment for the law that I didn't break?????????
