I-129F Approval Letter Not Received in the Mail

Hello All,

Our I-129F was approved late last month (27-Jun-2023); however, up until now, we still haven't received the approval notice in the mail yet. My dear partner submitted an e-request to USCIS 2 weeks ago but we still haven't received anything in the mail. It's been almost a month in total since we got approved. When he reached out to Emma, the live agent just told him to wait for another month before he can inquire about the status again. It's quite stressful for me, but I guess, it is what it is. We will just keep pestering them until we get the letter.

I just want to ask, from your experience, is the approval letter needed for the interview at the embassy? Also, do you know if the delay in receiving the approval letter in the mail affects the downstream timeline with the case forwarded to NVC and subsequently, to the embassy?

Thank you very much in advance!

We also did not receive NOA2 (returned by USPS), this was end of January, 2021. We put in the request and received NOA2 end of March. We did not put any further requests in, just that one and waited for the mail. Pestering them won’t do much so I advise just waiting for a month like the agent said.

No, but it’ll be needed when you AOS once in the US

This is very helpful and reassuring. Thank you very much for your response! :) I'm just really worried when things are not going like others.
