Hello all

I received my GC in the mail today and there werent even any mistakes. We are done with USCIS for 21 months now. Thanks to everyone on VJ for their invaluable help, I could have never done this on my own otherwise. I will continue to be on here and help out when I can!!!!!

July 24, 2007: Mailed all paperwork to Chicago (Wish us luck)

Aug 31, 2007: Biometrics Appointment

Sep 1, 2007: Received NOA1 (Dated Aug 29)

Nov 25, 2007: Received notice for interview in Baltimore, MD (No touches, nothing online to date)

Jan 22, 2008: Interview in Baltimore, MD. Went well.

Jan 29, 2008: Can finally track I-130 online. Approved.

Jan 31, 2008: Email I-485 "Card production ordered"

Feb 5, 2008: Another email I-485 "Card production ordered"

Feb 7, 2008: Received I-130 approval and I-485 "Welcome to America Letter" in snail mail

Feb 7, 2008: Email I-485 "Approval notice mailed"

Feb 9, 2008: GC in hand....... (Done with USCIS for a few months) YAYY!!!!!!

Oct 22, 2009: Process starts again. Going to mail I-751 to VSC

Jan 26, 2010: Notice of Approval and Card Production for 10-year GC

Feb 3, 2010: 10-Year GC Received

I'm so happy for all the approvals but it breaks my heart. I've gone through hell and high water to get my GC- I guess it will be 4 years this year . I just want my interview. My son is 21 in August and I have to be there, I just have to. I haven't seen him for 3 years on Feb 22nd and it hurts. Sorry for going but this is so upsetting.

I got an update on the USCIS web site yesterday saying they had mailed the approval notice, so I was expecting to get that in about a week, but it turns out they mailed it on Feb 16, and so I got it yesterday (the 19th), with the shiny new green card in the envelope.

Scary: the envelope was not sealed or anything (or they use really cheap glue that doesn't stick at all), but it looks like everything that was supposed to be inside, was inside!

4-1-08 NOA2 for K3 (I-134 supposed to be processed but processed I-129F instead)

7-11-08 interview Bangkok, passed.

7-16-08 POE arrival, 2 hours in Seattle Customs.

AOS I-486 sent 4-4-09

AOS NOA1 4-13-09 for all; I-485, I-131, I765

RFE 4-27-09 Thai official document in lieu of original Birth Certificate not sufficient???

Infopass appointment 5-26-09 at USCIS. Officer thought our doc was valid and doesn't know why the RFE.

7-28-09 EAD and AP sent

Social Security card 8-4-09

interview 9-10-09

10 year green card expires 9-17-19, Permanent Resident Card.

Resident since 9-10-09.

Had our interview yesterday and everything went fine. They didnt ask us much actually. Although, she looked at all the photos we brought.

When she saw that we applied for Advanced Parole (because we want to travel in May) ... she said "I think we can have everything arranged by then." --- This made me think we would get approved.

But in the end, she said "You will hear from us within 30 days." -- So the result was pretty anticlimactic!

But lo and behold, I checked the website today (the day after the interview!) and it said: CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED

I guess this means we got APPROVED!!! WOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!! This is awesome!

Will update my timeline and include everything I remember from the interview. :-)

Got really bored and in need of knowing if we have had any update and looked through all of our profiles to see who had been approved. Found quite a few.

Seems like they are in the thick of the Surge Applicants. Hopefully they can start processing us who paid the increase soon. Good luck to all. There is light at the end of the tunnel.
