AOS question. I recieved my NOA and bio appointment letter on Sept. 10 but the receipt number still is not working on the USCIS web site? anybody else having trouble with looking up your receipt #??? Also my field office is in Houston,Texas they are showing processing time to be 6 months for I 485 (AOS). Anybody knows if this is 6 months from the time the received it from the Chicago Office are 6 months from the time that the Chicago office received it? Thanks for any help. Dynamo Dean

Don't sweat it... it looks like they can't keep up with updating their web site. I got my NOA one month after sending my application, then my biometrics appointment was 20 days later, and it's only the day after my biometrics that my I-485 and I-765 showed up online (no sign of the I-131 yet).

Timeline:

2005-04-14: met online

AOS question. I recieved my NOA and bio appointment letter on Sept. 10 but the receipt number still is not working on the USCIS web site? anybody else having trouble with looking up your receipt #??? Also my field office is in Houston,Texas they are showing processing time to be 6 months for I 485 (AOS). Anybody knows if this is 6 months from the time the received it from the Chicago Office are 6 months from the time that the Chicago office received it? Thanks for any help. Dynamo Dean

hello there i was wondering the same thing but as i was looking it up i notice that my first 3 letters were MSC and the uscis doesnt use those letters to be able to check on the AOS'and EAD...i sent in our papers in aug and we got appointment for fingerprinting in oct...so i think there going pretty good..i didnt think i would hear from them until nov...after that i'm hearing that your green card will coming in about 3 weeks after that.....i've heard that from 2 people i know that is that far in this process.....from Ella

Dunno what you're talking about there... my AOS, EAD and AP have sequential numbers which all start with MSC and I can track the AOS and EAD online just fine since Sep 21.

Hey guys and gals how about the processing time. I noticed on line it says 6 months when I go to my field office for processing time for I485(AOS) which my field office is in Houston,Texas. Would that be 6 months from the time that the Houston office received it from the Chicago Office? are 6 months from the time that the Chicago office received it? anybody? Thanks Dynamo Dean

The USCIS announced "goal" for approving I-485's is 6 mos. When the USCIS reports a date of 6 mos., it simply means that they are in compliance with the announced "goal", and are approving applications in 6 mos. or less. They will never report a date less than the announced "goal". When they report an actual date that is longer than the announced "goal" then they are not in compliance and the date is representative of the dates of the files that they are currently processing.

Hi,

Kindly add me to the list,

I-485, 765 & 131 sent via Fedex on 3 Aug, and received at Chicago lockbox by John Chyra on 6 Aug.

My check hasn't been cashed yet and nothing received from USCIS in mail. I called the customer service and the agent advised me to see the immigration officer at the local office.

The officer at Charlotte office told me that they are backlogged at the service centers, and have detailed three of their own staff to help the service centers. I mentioned that many applicants who have filed after me have received their NOAs, and she said that my file might be at the desk of someone who is more backlogged than other (!!!) , though the cases are processed in the order they are received.

When I asked that the USCIS website mentions the complete processing of applications received at the Lockbox until the third week of August, she said, "The information on website is not that accurate" (???!!) and advised me that I can do nothing except to wait.

Has someone else been in a similar situation, and knows a better way to deal with it? I am worried that they haven't even opened my packet yet.

ok i'm sorry about that..when i checked it must of been alittle early....i just checked again and our case has changed..and is in their ok.....ella
