F21 VISA Scheduled Apt US Embassy in Beirut (Anyone has gotten interview in US Embassy Beirut?)

My husband received an approval email from the NVC on September 17, 2022, for the F21 visa class. As a green card holder, we are currently awaiting the scheduled interview. We contacted the NVC and the US embassy many times for an expedite request, but they didn't accept it in order to be fair to all applicants, and they're scheduling interviews in the order that the cases complete processing at the NVC. I'm wondering if there are any other green card holders here who got their approval after us and have already been scheduled for an interview. Thank you!

@Chancy, priority date on Immigrant Visa - Summary Information (state.gov) website is "30-JUN-2020" which you can see it below the interview location.

Unfortunately, your PD is no longer current on Table A of the Aug 2023 visa bulletin.  The F2A date regressed to 08 Oct 2017 -- https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin/2023/visa-bulletin-for-august-2023.html

 

Until your case PD becomes current, you will not be in line for visa interview.  You may need to wait 3 years or so.  There is no expedite for cases that are not current, not even for life-or-death reasons.  I recommend the LPR petitioner apply for US citizenship ASAP when they are eligible.  As soon as they get their naturalization certificate, they may request the case to be upgraded to IR1 and also request for expedited interview appointment.

@Chancy, shouldn’t be based on each embassy? I know that usually the embassy inform NVC about the available spots they have for appt and the NVC send the files…

That only applies to cases that are current according to the visa bulletin.  Your case is not current.  It doesn't matter even if your embassy has 0 cases in process right now.  Based on US immigration law, they can not grant you a visa until your case PD becomes current, so there's no point interviewing you until then.  Here's a recent report of an F2A applicant who was turned away at the embassy, because F2A retrogressed after he already had an interview schedule and his case PD was suddenly no longer current --

 

 

Again, your only option to get an interview appointment quicker is for the LPR petitioner to become a US citizen, assuming they are eligible.  For IR1 (spouse of USC) cases, the visa bulletin is irrelevant.

@Chancy, I dont know if I qualify for citizenship using the 4 years 1 day rule? I've had a green card since 2011, but we left the states in 2012 and didn't return until April 2019. Since then, I haven't left the country for more than 6 months. I came back for good in 2020 and began working in 2021. Some people told me I can apply for citizenship, some people says no its risky…

August 2023 is the current visa bulletin, not the current Priority Date (PD).  You will see the current PD for each visa category when you click on that visa bulletin link.  For F2A, it's 08 Oct 2017.

September bulletin has just been released - now 1st Jan 2018. So still not current for you, but it's moved forward a bit which is good news, better than retrogressing further or staying static.
