Howdy all. We're located in TN and my Husband work from home as their HQ is from FL.

I want to make sure I'm not overthinking or overlooking something but my Husband brought it up to me saying that I need to take care of it... I'm not sure why I need to if he not understanding? Or I may be confusing myself. I'm not a notary, but I'm a USC while my Husband came here to the states thru K-1 Visa and got his 2 year green card, but no updated physical green card yet as they just keep sending him renewal letters saying his green card has been extended. So I do fill this out?

I'll share the email of what was sent to him:

image.thumb.png.109bce0bec13d61f3d713aa4ee2fe713.png

So when I checked the attachment in the email, it displayed page 2 (instead of 1 and 2 - is this an error on their part?) of the form I-9, and on another page it mentions this:

In List A I think we could do #2 (in form of ID request on Form I-9):  Permanent Resident Card or Alien Registration Receipt Card (Form 1-551) using his green card and extension letters?

Yes. He will be using Greencard and extension letter. You will be a whiteness. I did last year the same and my husband was mine.

Ok so I do fill out this form and scan - email the items back to him I guess. Thanks, just wanted to be sure.

What should I put down for Citizenship/Immigration Status on the I-9 Form page 2 on the top right?

Following up, I don't think my Husband is able to do the state ID with unrestricted SS card. We just went out and got the physical copy back from the apartment we were staying at because it wasn't at my house.

The Social Security card says "Valid for work only with DHS authorization".

I don't think there is any way to get that removed, correct? Unless we missed a time frame to get it updated or something?

I question that. I know of no state, district, or territory, that denies state ID to an LPR with an extension letter and GC. American Samoa is an exception I would not question. Not a real territory IMHO.

Incorrect. Case in point, in 2022, my wife went to an SSA office in Tucson with her expired GC and restricted SS card and they cheerfully processed her request for an unrestricted GC. Took less than 2 weeks for her new SS card to arrive.

He should go to SSA offices starting tomorrow.

I think the typo was the unrestricted GC meant to be unrestricted SS card?

I'll be taking him to the SSA office tomorrow early morning first thing.

In case we do not get the SS Card on time to submit the paperwork;
I got some other questionable thing on how to fill this out. I'm not able to find examples of how it should be filled out.

Section 2: List A;
1 - My Husband have the green card but it is expired (08/19/2022). While looking at this, I'm confused if the document number would be his USCIS# (Alien #) or the SRC#.
Note: The USCIS never sent out another green card but sent 2 separate NOA. I'm currently holding the most recent one.

2- My Husband have the I-797 NOA in which it regards case type: I751 - Petition to remove conditions on residence. I think I'll add this to the second box under the Document Title using the Receipt # (SRC), right?
Do I put the Document title as I-797 NOA?
It does mention it extends the Green Card for 48 months, so I'd like to know how should I put the expiration date. Received date is 06/21/2022, Notice date is 04/05/2023. Not sure if notice date is +48 months with the Notice date?

I just got back! The guy in the SSA office said they don't do anything about the SS card until my Husband naturalize. I'm guessing he didn't know about the other part of the SSA regulation like the link.

I'll look over the link you provided.

Edit: We're in East TN area so we check out the Athens office. They are small and not many people so it's good. Knoxville SSA office was really bad last time we visited. Too many people and the staff were not helpful at all.

My Husband do have the updated valid DL so it's good until 2030.

I try to carefully read over the SSA page that mentions it and it seem to have a questionable clause of why would the NOA that my Husband have would be 48 months instead of the 18 months.

I found and printed out this page to attach for updated situation that help covers that.

I'm also adding a screenshot in case the page get lost/deleted/edited/removed.
