“The U.S. aims to defend its interests and safeguard freedom of navigation in the strategic waterway”

The U.S. has no interests there because the U.S. has sufficient reserves of oil, gas and coal, and through its ally Canada, uranium, to satisfy its energy needs.

The US can’t be going and getting all energy independent again. That just won’t do 😠

How will Russia keep the Ukraine invasion going if we actually crash the price of oil and stop the flow of money into the Kremlin’s coffers?

The Saudi’s would never countenance actually having to behave, for fear of American oil flooding the market and driving down their income.

And those poor Iranian protesters need to retain some meager sense of hope that the US cares about their plight and may, in twenty or thirty years’ time, choose to actually do something to support their cause. A bake sale, perhaps?

F-16s and F-35s are a token show of force, at best. Just America trumpeting its global secure role with a kazoo from last Christmas.

Don't interrupt me when I'm talking to myself

IOW,

Something must be done.

This is something.

Therefore, this must be done.”

— said by nearly every U.S. secretary of state and POTUS since April 2017 except for April 26, 2018 – January 20, 2021 and January 20, 2017 – January 20, 2021, respectively.

Over a century of bad foreign policy leading to a world war, a nuclear war,  countless proxy wars with Russia,  China,  and with Saudi Arabian gentry, 100s of millions of lives lost, and tens of trillions of dollars spent.

When you tell a Democrat that the first Commander-in-Chief since Jimmy Carter to serve a full term without getting embroiled in another new shooting match was Donald Trump, the thump as their jaw hits the floor is as satisfying as a hot bacon sandwich after an epic pub crawl 😋

With Bidementia on the wrong side of all of it.
