Case is far outside normal processing times. MSC Processing Center.

 

June 2020----- Filed I-751

May 2021-----BIOmetrics

May 2021----- Ready to schedule interview

Feb 2023---- Second I-551 Extension letter received. Expires September 2024.

April 2023---- I spoke with a USCIS agent who acknowledged my case was outside processing times and instructed me to send an email to have the case reviewed. Sent email, was supposed to receive reply withing 30days, still no reply.

May 2023--- After waiting for 30 days without reply, I contacted senators office to request help. sent them necessary info. They said uscis is working on it, nothing more they can do.

What gives? USCIS won't communicate, I understand there are delays, but I'm seeing people who've filed in 2021 and 2022 that already have their approvals.

Have you applied for citizenship yet?  If not, that is your best action to "kick" the I-751 loose.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

We filed wife's I-751 in March 2019.  No RFE's..... After waiting 40 months, wife filed N-400 in August 2022.  In December 2022, both the I-751 and N-400 were approved.  Wife took oath in January 2023.

No....but some countries do not allow dual citizenship.  I thought maybe that is why you have not yet filed.

Filing for citizenship was a piece of cake.....and citizenship completely removes you from the grasp of USCIS....

1. Try USCIS ombudsman. 
 

2. After the above ( likely) fails; try a DIY writ of mandamus. See topics posted by @igoyougoduke

I concur I would file a N400 ASAP!


4 years, 11 months, 2 weeks and 3 days

Citizenship Complete!

1. keep doing outside processing time request and you will get service request number

2. utilize inbox message on myUSCIS account, usually the one who response is Tier 2. super slow response, but nothing to lose

3. reach out to local congressperson. some aid are more helpful than the other. u can put ur zipcode on house.gov to find out ur local congressperson

4. ombudsman. last time i tried in June 2023 i got response/answer in 21 days 

5. file n-400 ( if you want to apply n-400, not everyone wants to be a citizen)

6. if you dont want to file N-400, then writ of mandamus is the last resort after u tried point 1-4

It seems MSC is finally approving 2020 filers. I've seen it I'm FB groups. Mine was filed October 2020, biometrics 2021 and I was just approved last week with no interview.

  • Interview Date: 2018-10-31 (approved!)
