Has anyone gotten pushbacks from trying to get your passport stamped?  Do I have to make up a real emergency story for it to happen?  Last time I was told that I'd get a call within 30 days, then at the 30 day mark, I got an email saying something like "...there's no appointment available...."

What are your strategies?

Option 1.  You could call and request they mail you an ADIT stamp if you need evidence of status.

Option 2.  Schedule short notice refundable tickets.  Call USCIS for an emergency appointment.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Passport stamps are unicorns per the new process:

You will instead get an I-94 that has your photo and an I-551 stamp.

Thanks guys.  This is not something I'm aware of.  When I call to request it, do I need to come up with any gimmick to not get any kind of pushback?

from the link I gave you, USCIS has, finally, conceded,

Lawful permanent residents are entitled to evidence of status”

That is all the justification you need. If they say no, then  DIY Writ of Mandamus for the ADIT,  your I-751, and your N-400 is all you need.

Your N-400 interview was 3 years ago. So you should be litigating.

I-751 was filed 2017.

I did not understand why someone with a 4 year extension letter needs an ADIT

4 year extension letters only apply to I-751 filed in the last two year or so.  When I filed mine, it was only 18 months.

Thank you.  I'll try calling again, I wonder how long before I can get it in the mail if they decide to process it.

I've actually gotten stamps before, each time felt like an uphill battle though, once you're scheduled for an appointment, it's quick.

Ooh, interesting situation, many thoughts:

 1.  They sent out 4 years extensions for everyone in the I-751 by now. Just read your posts, even with the extension your green card is completely expired in 2021.

So now even more reason for you to get working on your immigration issues! You need to fix this yourself since USCIS isn't. You can't just wait forever for an answer!

 2. You have to be relentless to get an ADIT stamp. Call everyday, call your representative, make it your second job. Talk about your emergency, request a mailed admit stamp, say you have to have proof of status it is the law etc.

 3. Definitely look into forcing them to give you an answer, 3 years for a response post interview is not normal. Unless your case has something very wrong with it, even a DIY writ of mandamus can get you both the removal of conditions and naturalization in a couple of months.

Thank you.  Without getting into more depressing details, but let's just say even a 4 year extension letter would have been rendered useless for me.  Stamp is my only option at this point.
