Hello all, new here. (Mods please move this if it's in the wrong area)

Question:   For K1 visa income verification, do they only need the most recent years income/tax forms? I wasn't sure if they needed to see like past 5 years or something.

Thanks,

Jon

For the K1 application, the beneficiary must take the I 134 and requested documentation to the interview. Read the instructions for this form very well. Once in the US, married and filing for AOS, the I864 and required documentation will be filed along with many other forms and documentation .

Sorry, I am confused. Are you saying the answer is in the I 134? I was just curious if I would only provide last year/most recent taxes, income forms or do they want last 5 years?

I would recommend thoroughly reading the I-134 instructions. All the information you need is there.

You only need the most recent tax return. It is also advisable to provide paystubs and/or a letter from your employer (on letterhead) verifying your employment and salary. You can also provide a letter from your bank, as detailed in the I-134 instructions.

Hello all, what is the 2023 minimum income requirement for the K1 visa?

It has always been an article of faith for me that it is 100 percent of what I-864p lists. And yet, I cannot find a source within .gov that says that.

Can it be from various sources, not just a job?

Yes. It has to be what your income will be in the next 365-366 days.

Do the income requirements change each year?  I see different numbers: $22887 ,   $24650 ...

Also is it GROSS or NET ?

It is based on HHS poverty limits. These change year.

For K-1 it 100 percent of HHS. For CR-1, I-864 125 percent. When the K-1 enters the U.S. , I-485 / I-864 moves to 125 percent.

It is best  to use 125 percent because IMO, few K-1 petitioners can magically increase their income by 25 percent when their betrothed moves to U.S.

Thanks Mike E.

So I am looking at this site:   2023 HHS Poverty Guidelines for Affidavit of Support | USCIS

It's just me living alone. So the amount would be $24650 ?    Is the left column for everyone or military? That's my confusion....

Yes that is the number for I-864 for a house hold of 2 at 125 pct of HHS

$19,720 is the number for I-134 for a house hold of 2 at 100 pct of HHS
