My wife traveled more than a few times with just a copy of the letter. A good copy, and I even laminated it to keep it safe. No issues over 3 or 4 trips. The original never left the safe at home.

Here on a K1? Need married and a Certificate in hand within a few hours? I'm here to help. Come to Vegas and I'll marry you Vegas style!!   Visa Journey members are always FREE for my services. I know the costs involved in this whole game of immigration, and if I can save you some money I will!

Final update:  I am at Boston Logan Terminal E and I received a text from the better half that she boarded - the timestamp was 6 hrs ago.

I think she sent it when she had no signal, and it just got through when her plane landed here.

She is definitely here - she texted again.  I'm at the waiting area just outside the baggage claim exit.

Time to see if CBP will call me to show the original extension letter (I brought it just in case).

Original extension letter was not needed.  After over an hour clearing cbp, they are here.  Drama over.
