Thanks. This helps.

in case you are curious, the case number from NVC starts with 3 letters (code for your consulate) and the rest are numbers to specify when the case number was created. The first 4 numbers for year, the next three (see note below about Julian date) are date and last three for the “nth case created on that date”.

For the 3 numbers for date of creation, subtract 500 out of it and look up the remaining value in a Julian calendar for 2023 (google is your friend). So if these 3 numbers are 744, then your case creation date is Sept 1st.

Yes. Keep bugging them until they give you the status you need.

I got my case number a week ago and it says "At NVC". What does that mean? Are they processing the case?

On the same boat. I got a response from the public inquiry today finally giving the case#

NOA2: July 1st, 2023

NVC Case Created: Aug 25th, 2023 (Got it from the case number using the Julian calendar trick)

Still haven't received any letter in the mail and the status reads "At NVC". Kinda frustrated but it is what it is I guess.

The petitioner will get an email called K1-FTP when the case goes in transit (when NVC ships the case to the embassy). Some countries receive a mailed letter (Netherlands and Italy are two that I know of), but it's an addition to the email, received weeks after it's been shipped.

February 2022 I-129F K1 Case Status Spreadsheet can be found here.
NVC Timelines spreadsheet can be found here.
NOA1:
Feb 22nd, 2022 | NOA2: May 12th, 2023 (444 days) | NVC Received: July 3rd, 2023 (52 days) | Case number: Aug 2nd, 2023 (82 days) | In Transit: Aug 15th, 2023 (95 days)  | Ready: Aug 17th, 2023 | Medical: Sep 22nd, 2023 | Interview: Sep 26th, 2023

I see, in my case, my fiance lives in Sydney, Australia. I guess at this point just have to wait to hear from the consulate.

Hi all, nice to see everyone here. We got NOA2 on 7/5/2023, then total radio silence from NVC. we did two inquiries (8/10 and 8/25) and found that our case was made on 8/25 at NVC (used the Julian calendar method from these forums to decipher the case number).

Despite that, it STILL has not been shipped and appears to have missed this week’s shipment as well. We have not gotten a welcome letter although it appears from the forums that these only arrive once it is In Transit now.

Our NOA2 also has an expiration of Nov 4, which makes me nervous with how long they are taking.

anyway, hopefully others are having more luck and that we all make it through soon. I did not think that 2+ months later I would still be waiting for the smallest logistical hurdle to be overcome by this agency.
