The first letter we've received on Saturday stating;

"It is not necessary for you to appear at the USCIS Application Support Center ASC for the biometrics appointment. The biometrics fee will not be refunded.

Today in the second letter:

Thank you for submitting your application... etc.

Payment receipt of $725

Next Steps:

- We will schedule you for an appointment at a USCIS Application Support Center ASC for you to provide your fingerprints, photograph and or signature

- We will mail you a separate biometrics appointment notice with the specific date time and ASC locations. Please wait until you receive your appointment notice before going to the ASC.

I'm confused now. In the first letter they've said that they will reuse fingerprints but in the second letter they've said that they will send another notice to schedule the fingerprints.

Don't worry they reused it. First the notice was supposed to come then the biometrics reuse one but it came opposite. They already reused your biometrics. What does your case status online say?

I too also got the letter in the mail like Thunderbolt have. But I also do have question about the extended date.

Since my Husband also have a ROC's NOA that extend the GC up to 48 months, does this N400 NOA only covers for N400 and doesn't override the ROC's NOA? I don't think it add/stack up together.
I noticed this NOA is likely part of the other one that came in the mail because both have the same notice date. I guess this NOA showed here would supposed to be the first NOA, and the Biometric reused is the 2nd NOA - received earlier?

The extensions do not stack. They run parallel. The policy for i751 aloows "now" 48 months & N400 24 months.

Lets say the "Card Expires" date on Physical Green Card is Jan 01, 2021.

i751 gives 48 months from above date = 4 years = Green card + ROC Letter makes expiry Date Jan 01, 2025 (4 years).

n400 gives 24 months from above date = 2 years = Green card + N400 Letter makes expiry Date Jan 01, 2023. (2 Years).
