Can we delay K-1 Visa Interview (UK)?

Our circumstances have been a little shaky lately and so we want to delay proceedings a bit so we can get more stable.

I have received my approval letter in the US (26th June 2023) and my partner hasn't received anything yet but has decided to complete the DS-160 online so he has a confirmation page ready, does anyone know if we have to do anything before we can book an interview, or do we just wait it out?

Onto the main topic though, if we are supposed to do something now, is there a way to delay it until we're more stable? Like, delaying the interview or medical, when we can book them?

Also our letter says it expires on 25th October 2023, if we need to delay further than that do we have to contact someone to get an extension?

We filed entirely by ourselves so we don't have any lawyers to help us with this particular part of the process. Any help is much appreciated; I'm sure you all know how spooky it is to feel like its out of your hands 😅

Your fiancé has to proactively seek a visa by October 25, or run the risk that the embassy will cancel your approved I-129F. A request for a delay for the reasons you have given are, IMHO,

* unlikely to be granted by the embassy

* likely to raise suspicion that there is no bonafide relationship,  thus raising the risk that the K-1 will be denied.

Even more so than CR-1, for K-1, each embassy and consulate has a unique   process. If the embassy has not contacted either of you by July 26, one of you should contact the embassy.

Do not use this term in any interaction with the Departments of State and Homeland Security. That term can be interpreted as spouse, and generally, married people cannot be issued a K-1.

What do you mean by "shaky" are you having relationship or are you attached to @Seino and worried about the I-134?

US Embassy UK is fairly easy going~ This poster apparently was planning on using bank statements and a letter of proof of employment.

You might want to DM to see what the UK embassy requested~ Apologies if I am incorrect and you are not connected to the above named poster.

Ha ha, yes I am the USC Fiancee and that's why we're looking at delays, but he told me what you had said and we think we'll probably be alright.
Just making sure we have backup plans in place, though it might seem like it, we're trying not to wing it too much 😅

We both really appreciate your help by the way and we're really glad that it seems like we'll manage okay!

Now its just a waiting game to see when the NVC gets in touch, seems like 😁
