If case went to NVC ?

and no new case # or payment of 2 fees?

if NVC has it and the fees and supporting documents are not done,  it can't be processed

if the case is just at USCIS as u applied 4 months ago,  it will be about 12 months total to process

Please do a timeline /it helps to look at one to figure out what u need to know

No, USCIS has approved the case and sent it to Department of State for visa processing on February 27, 2023. Then I received a letter from National Visa Center letting me that they are processing the case and within 45 days I should receive a letter for my next step submitting documents and fee. It's been way more than 45 days now and still no update. An inquiry was put but no reply from them what's so ever. I'm just so confused as the cases which were submitted in June are being processed by NVC as per their website.

NVC does not process or issue visas.   What you are waiting for is to be documentarily approved and for the case to be sent to the consulate for an interview.

Some consulates have years-long backlogs for immigrant visa interviews, so you can’t really compare your case to others.

Your first email from NVC was not the “notice of visa case creation” email? This was the first email I received from NVC (last week) and it had my case and invoice numbers right in there (NVC sent this to me just a few days after USCIS approval). You then have to log in to pay. Until you do, you won’t be able to fill out the apps or submit documents.

Above site tells u how to pay 2 fees and do the supporting documents

  1. Immigrant Visa Application Processing Fee
  2. Affidavit of Support Fee.

(I-130 - case sent to Department of State for visa processing more than 4 months ago)

Hi all, updates on my above/ first question.

So, my husband put in an inquiry with NVC and in reply they gave a new CASE number and asked us to proceed with a payment by using the Invoice # which was sent on the approval letter. But, on the letter there is only a receipt # not an invoice. So, he contacted NVC again and then they said an invoice # will be sent separately "soon" exact time frame wasn't given.

My husband frustratedly mentioned all this to the lawyer through whom we applied - and the response which we got from her was "this is pretty strange, and we can only wait now."  Is everything going right?? Can someone please help me out, this whole thing is already taken so long and at this stage the new case number and the invoice should be provided so we could proceed with the payment and next step.
