Hello,

Is Covid vaccine still required for K1 visa? My fiance has received notice that her case is being sent to US embassy in Warsaw. Is the Sputnik vaccine accepted or not? If the Sputnik vaccine is not accepted then what do Russians do to fulfill the Covid requirement?

Thank you

Pretty sure Russians get an exemption from showing a covid vaccine because Sputnik isn't WHO-recognized, thus it's not required. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

When my wife did her medical in March 2023, they told her that there is a waiver in place for Russians as none of the Russian 'vaccines' are CDC or WHO approved. You will likely need one of the American 'vaccines' after you arrive though.

Just scheduled the med exam in Warsaw with the Wilanow clinic, and in their confirmation email they wrote the following information:

Regarding COVID: citizens of Russia are exempt from the requirement of COVID vaccination, and can finalize their green card process and enter the US without having had the approved vaccine

They confirmed that this is official information from the US Embassy. I thought the exemption only applied if you do the med exam in Moscow. Is this new information?

Can anyone say what happens after US arrival? Does the green card come without doing the COVID vaccine?

Once the beneficiary enters the US with their immigrant visa, no further vaccination is required for US immigration purposes.

Note also that the visa plus the CBP entry stamp serves as a green card for 1 year from US entry, equivalent to the plastic green card for all legal purposes.  So the beneficiary actually gets a GC from day 1.  As for the plastic GC, just need to pay the $220 immigrant fee and wait for delivery.

Thank you! Couldn't have been said more clearly!
