Hello, my PD is Oct 17. 2022 and it still said the case is taking longer time than expected .. at the mean time my B1/B2  visa is about to expired in October 2023

I'd like to renew the B1/B2 visa before it got expired but I was afraid that the embassy going to reject it because my I-130 process and are they going to suspect me with the possibility of overstay ? the last visit to see my Husband was in March 2023 and few times before that too.

With this uncertainty on the timeline now, I kinda feel anxious not to be able to visit when the visa is about to expired too (it is easier for me to visit him vs the otherwise )

Has anyone had the experience of renewing B1/B2 while you were waiting for the I-130 ?

Thanks and God bless !

I have never read of someone successfully getting B2 visa after they have filed the i130 for them on VisaJourney.  I did however see a claim that someone was able to do exactly that on a Facebook group i am a member of.   Unfortunately there is only one way to be certain,  and that is to try.  As normal try to prove you have a reason to return, work, house, spousal interview...   Please report back on your attempt.

I have seen it a few times, not sure I would say it is normal but it does happen.

Somebody with an existing visa should be in a better situation.

hello hello

I just want to give an update, I got my renewal  B1/B2 visa from the mail today .

When I'm filling in the application  I explained that I have plan to see my husband in November and since my visa will get expired in October and I'm still on process for the I-130 with no definite time waiting , I'm gonna need to have my visa renewed.

I had the interview waiver type and send all the document needed to the Embassy , and within like 5 days I got my passport back with the new visa (5 years length) which is the standard time for Indonesian's passport .

So.. I'm happy 🙂

Thank you all
