I love reading some of the whack job extreme leftist sources have to share.  This one is great.  Of course the overall premise is wrong (no climate change did not cause the hurricanes, nor the fires in CA).  I also love how it fails to mention that it was the Biden Admin (run by Hunter) that was in charge when the hurricane hit. What is also amazing is how they think it is amazing how people come together when a natural disaster occurs.  This type of neighborliness should be the norm, not depending on some government entity.

Way to early to really tell what the impacts will be from the German election, but it appears the EU and more particularly Germany is starting to face reality.

That statute commands the complete restructuring of New York’s energy economy to reach “net zero” greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, with a most immediate first deadline of 70% of electricity generation from “renewables” by 2030. They never had a credible plan to achieve that, but they pretended they were going to do most of it with the big offshore wind buildout. Now that that is dead, they don’t even have a fake plan.

 

And also meanwhile, New York City’s statute known as Local Law 97 also remains on the books. That’s the statute that mandates that all residential buildings in excess of 25,000 square feet convert to electric heat by 2030 — the same year that the State’s Climate Act mandates 70% of electricity generation from “renewables,” of which the large majority can only come from non-existent wind and solar. Thus we have the City mandating a huge increase in electricity demand by 2030 at the same time that the State is mandating dismantling our existing reliable electricity generation with no credible plan to replace it.

Hockey Stick Shenanigans and Fraudulent Climate Science: Mark Steyn Has The Last Laugh

 

If the blade of Mann’s hockey stick showed an unprecedented rise in global temperature coinciding neatly with the onset of the Industrial Revolution, its millennia-long relatively straight shaft also performed a critical function. The hockey stick in effect abolished the Medieval Warming Period (800 – 1300 AD) which was part of the previously accepted climatological record. By deleting reference to the MWP, the hockey stick persuaded people and politicians into thinking that modern global warming was unprecedented and hence entirely man-made.

 

Commentator Rupert Darwall points out that “the Medieval Warm Period presented a twofold problem to the new climate change orthodoxy. It implied a much greater amplitude of natural variability beyond the bounds posited by the new scientific consensus of human-driven climate change, and it challenged the catastrophist narrative of global warming. If the prosperity of the Middle Ages and Viking settlement of Greenland occurred during an extended period of unusual warmth, then modern societies, too, could survive and prosper in a period of rising temperature.”

 

Since the publication of Mann’s hockey stick paper, there have been many peer-reviewed temperature reconstruction studies using similar proxies (such as tree ring data) and statistical methods that have given results that diverge from Mann’s. Since 2019, there have been over 350 peer-reviewed scientific papers published showing no warming in the modern era and/or much warmer temperatures than today when CO2 levels ranged from 180 to 280 ppm.

 

Well known climate scientist Dr. Judith Curry, writing in her capacity as an expert witness to the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, gave her opinion that it is “reasonable” to have referred to the hockey stick in 2012 as “fraudulent” in the sense that “aspects of it are deceptive and misleading.”
