Is anyone else getting the same error message while filing an I-130 Petition for a Parent of a US citizen. I was naturalized in March 2022 and even indicated on the form that I am a US Citizen now and entered the Certificate number and yet still getting this error message. Any help will be much appreciated.

@Jeff1980 I am submitting my mom's petition through the mail instead of doing it online. I will submit the petition this week.

Just my thought, there could be a few possible reasons for the error.

  1. Timing: Double-check the timing of your naturalization and the filing of the I-130 petition. Make sure you were already a USC at the time of filing the petition. If there was a gap between your naturalization and the petition filing, it's possible that the system is not recognizing your updated status.
  2. Data entry error: Review the information you entered on the form, including your certificate number. Ensure that you have entered the correct information without any typos or mistakes. Even a minor error in data entry can trigger the error message.
  3. Technical issue: It's also possible that the error is due to a technical issue or glitch in the filing system.

I think your course of action of trying again may resolve the issue.

@ameribrazil I checked all the details and everything is correct. I even tried creating a new account but same results.

Hmm they might have your information incorrect on their system or they are experiencing a glitch. Have you tried calling them? I think your initial comment of sending via snail mail might be your only option at this point. Good Luck!
