Questions about time it takes to get Visa after approval

Hello everyone.  I had a few  questions and also seeking some opinions about my situation.

My Fiancee has an interview for her K1 Visa mid September.  I was planning a trip to go see her so I could be there for her interview as well as having her come back with me if all goes well.

I wanted to know the average timeline for getting a Visa after interview.

The problem I'm having though is my work won't let me take time off to go.

If she gets approved or not I still want to go visit her, as its been over a year since seeing her last, and if she is approved I do not want her to come alone either.

Visas are typically in hand 10 working days after the interview. Keep in mind the embassy close for U.S. and Thai holidays:

At our approval in Bogota Colombia last week, the officer said the visa will be ready in two to three weeks.  In our case we had paid for it to be sent to my fiance via DHL.

@PhatCat have you received visa yet? I know they’re telling everyone 2-3 weeks, but before July people were getting them in 2-4 days. We chose the DHL next to

embassy. Just curious if it’s really taking 2-3 weeks. TIA and congratulations on approval!!

We had paid for DHL delivery to his home. Our interview was July 5 and the visa was in his hand Jul 12.

 

Our overall experience at the US embassy in Bogota was excellent.
