I crossed the border to USA from Canada on June 12th after receiving my Immigrant Visa (Passport) from the US Consulate in Montreal dated  June 2. I received my SSN (Social Security Number) by mail on June 26  and it was dated on June 14.

Can anybody who crossed the border in the last  9 months  tell me how long did it take for your green card to be mailed to your US address after you paid for your immigration fee and did you have to sign for it ?

Thanks..

Did you pay your immigrant fee to get your green card. If so, it is a bit early to worry about it arriving.

With your SS card and your stamped visa, you have what you need to get state ID / DL. With state ID / DL and your SS card you can get a job without I-9 reverification.

My husband entered May 21st and got his physical green card this last Saturday. So five weeks for his card to come when the customs guy said to wait like 10 months. His just came in the mail and didn’t sign for it
