NVC sent me my case number last January 2021. I’m still waiting up until now to start the process but in my portal I still can’t start especially the payment. What should I do? It’s been 1 year and a half since I got my case number what should I do?

Visa category: F24

I was petitioned 2017 by my immigrant father then I got my case number last 2021. Then up until now I can’t start the process.

Isn't that the same as an F2B?  If so, you don't have a visa number available yet.

Until it is current on the visa bulletin, you will not be allowed to submit documents

Yes it’s the same with F2B and yes I still don’t have a visa number.

I don’t think you understand how the visa bulletin/family preference visas work.   You should study it.

Greetings!

NOTE: reference: Visa Bulletin For June 2023 (state.gov)

(Under F2B or F24 CATEGORY, AS OF JUNE 2023 THE PRIORITY DATE IS OCTOBER 2011.)

1. Your father petitioned you under F24 or F2B category, unmarried child of a legal permanent resident or a green card holder over 21 years old. The case was approved and was sent to NVC and will stay there until your priority date will be current.

2. Once your priority date is current, NVC will begin to contact you by sending you a welcome letter as well as an invoice ID number, wherein you can start paying and submitting your documents.

3. Once NVC gets your payment and all your documents are submitted and accepted, your status will be change to documentarily qualified.

4. Then you will just have to wait for NVC to send you the interview date and medical.

5. Then you will have your medical and interview.

Note Due to COVID, backlogs my brothers are still waiting for their interview, they were all documentarily qualified since 2020. And their priority date is March 2010.
