Official green card arrived while traveling abroad?

My wife and I are traveling abroad, and we brought the expired green card + USCIS letter of 48 month extension. Back home, our family has received the official green card.

Will there be any issues when coming back to the states and through custom? Will their database know that there is an actual valid green card that exists now?

This was posted in the AOS forum for K1s and K3s.  However, it appears that you do have the original 2-yr conditional GC from AOS and what was approved was the 10-yr GC for ROC.

Could you please confirm?

If so, I saw in another post that travelers in your same situation that were coming back into USA were actually told by the POE officer that the GC had been approved and they were waiting to hear official news in the mail/website, etc. to see if the office was correct.  But, it appears the officers are able to see that on their end and the travelers were able to come in with the expired GC and the extension letter.

Of course, I can't tell you for a fact, but it sounds like they will be able to tell and still let you in.  In the meantime, can you log in and get a snip of the approval notice and maybe have that on your phone to show it happened while you were abroad?

Well, I just entered the US 1 week ago  ( MCO - ORLANDO ) with Expired GC + 48 months extension letter....after spending almost 5 months overseas....

my 10 year GC was approved 2 months ago!

CBP looked a bit upset because I was overseas for too long ( his first question was: Do you still live here? ). /// Fun fact: I think they are using face recognition because Im 100% sure he knew who I was ( and for how long I was traveling ), before I handled my passport////

He never mentioned the 10 year GC....they did not asked me to do the Fingerprints ( I don't know if thats the normal procedure now )

But I have the impression that he did not know about my 10 year GC being approved, or that he did not care....he never mentioned
