I went to SSA today to get a SSN for K1, <10 days from POE.  SSA office says their system doesn't allow filing for SSN until after >10 days from POE.  Just a FYI as I see some other people mentioned they did SSN within 1 - 2 days of POE.  I'm sure it worked out for them, but I think some SSA office have different guidelines.

I don't think it was the SSA employee.  I politely asked her if it was possible for her to try.  However, I'll try another SSA location.  I have an appointment for near end of this week, but if I can get it processed tomorrow, that'll be even better.

I went to another SSN office.  They said they aren't even going to look at my case.  They checked the system and saw that there was a case processing at the other SSA office already.  So I'm stuck with my appointment to finish my application for the SSN.
