It is possible.  It takes about 15-20 years for a visa number to become available.

We have many members sponsoring siblings F4 category

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

It is possible. Starting this month, despite the 30 year wait to get a gc, citizens of certain countries who are waiting for a sibling visa will be invited to apply for parole into the U.S.  This parole will let the sibling live in the US and let the sibling apply for a work and travel permit.

My prediction is it will be expanded to all countries.

That is not what Old Joe said but certainly would be interesting consequences if those who apply for an immigrant visa can come and chill.

Could you provide a link to that? Thanks!

  • April 27,2023 announcement
  • says DOS will consider parole for already approved family-based petitions
  •
  • New Family Reunification Parole Processes. DHS is creating new family reunification parole processes for El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Colombia. The agency is also modernizing existing family reunification parole processes for Cuba and Haiti. These processes, once finalized, will allow vetted individuals with already approved family-based petitions to be paroled into the United States, on a case-by-case basis. The U.S. Government will deliver timely and efficient authorization for those approved and vetted to travel. Individuals paroled into the U.S. under these processes would be eligible to apply for work authorization.

I was trying to listen to 1PM press conference to hear about parole but Principal Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel did not mention it

Certain buzz words:

  • Modernizing. Most of us will be dead before they do that.
  • 4 specific Countries, no obvious reason why they were selected.
  • As I have mentioned before if they give a pass to these 4 can you imagine the response from everybody else?
  • Vetted individuals, no idea what that means.
  • Case by case, well everything is case by case, unclear what is meant by that.
  • Approved family based permissions, I assume they mean those waiting for their PD to be current but could read it those waiting for an interview.
  • Timely and efficient - well now we are in uncharted territory.
  • 21st June so not many days left for an announcement.

I have seen it mentioned elsewhere it would be limited to 100,000, now if it was open to all well.....

the buzz words seem to be DOS's  way to not really say anything

Reading that whole article and what Rep Tiffany has proposed to Congress looks like the same ole same ole Democrat vs Republican boarder protection/ illegal immigration battle

some congress members call it South American parole not even knowing a couple of these countries are not in SA

but 20th of april this article appeared  so Congress is at odds

I always wonder what they cover in Geography classes in the US, I remember a school friend could recite every State and Capital City, something I still can not do despite living here, seems a 50/50 shot if they have a clue where Wales is.

I have just been asked if I am Australian or a New Zealander, the only options seemingly allowed.
