NVc sets the schedule for MTL, so MTL wont know until NVC sets it. Best of luck

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

thxs for your reply, I had the knowledge that nvc calls the shots for

this type of visa.

my main concern was approx how long from case complete to interview

at this time OF THE YEAR.

I have perused many places on the forums ,even scratched my head at

those graphs for timelines, LOOKING for similar case and case.

so many here do not fill it out. timeline that is.

ah well que sera sera.

if the montreal interview is called for when we are cruising greek isles,

I will ask for pp and do it on my return

It's hard to say when your interview will be. It's been slow lately, but could speed up.

My case was completed November 17th, had interview March 20th. Another girl had her case completed December 19th and her interview will be April 19th. So for both of us it was about a four-month turn-around. So far no one whose case was completed in January has been assigned an interview to the best of my knowledge.

May interviews are being scheduled this week, so maybe someone will post soon and then you can get a better idea of how fast things are moving right now.

Other then that, no one can really tell you how long it will be until your interview. We're all just guessing. The Montreal Consulate seems to change from time to time. Last year the turn around was several months from case completion to visa and then at one point it was only about a month and then several and now it's four...so, it's really kind of hard to say when your interview will be.

It's hard, we know -- we've all been there (check out some of my posts -- I'm not the most patient of people!) and understand and we're all hoping it doesnt take as long for you to have your interview scheduled. :)
