I retired from the military in 1991.  I just can't believe the lack of discipline and "leadership" in today's military.  This "wokeness" in the military will be our downfall when the chickens come home to roost.

I had thought Senator Tom Tuberville was being a bit of a prat for holding out on the promotions.

 

After John Kirby’s slightly unhinged episode, I hope Tuberville sticks to his guns and the country gets to see exactly how demented this administration’s defence of the abortion policy really is. Kirby makes me sick.

When the US entered the WW2 they had the advantage of 2 years notice, they started with a small Army and a lot of deadwood, they had the time to clear a lot of it out, retirements, move to training commands and even after all that were pretty ruthless relieving commanders when deemed necessary.

 

I was thinking if there ever becomes a need, you can of course play around with Colonial campaigns, it would take forever to sort the current mess out.

The military should be the ultimate meritocracy. It’s primary objective is to engage in combat and win and all efforts should be focused on attaining that objective.

 

I personally have no problem with a serviceperson’s gender identity (unless it’s as a two-spirit penguin, aka Piers Morgan and I’ll have to beat you to death with a giant inflatable banana), but you will be accommodated per your biological sex at birth.

 

i do not care about your race. If you have a problem with race, get angry, focus that anger, use it to become more deadly to your opponent on the battlefield. Earn respect as an individual (each serviceperson starts with none), advance and lead by example. Wars are not won by pandering to history. They are won by beating the opposition as efficiently as possible.

 

Our military needs to be wholly divorced from political pandering, ideological constraints and profiteering. It needs to be trained and equipped to fight in the most effective manner possible, with the best tools it can get.

We are losing talent to the DPRK as well.  Not really sure that was a smart move, and may indicate the level of intelligence we are seeing in today's Army, etc.

from what i've seen, it's more concern about DEI, inclusion, etc ad vomitus instead of the focus on what the job really is - fighting multiple peer adversaries and winning.  all of this other nonsense that has overtaken the military from the top down is just creating distractions from the real mission and is a threat to national security.

the afghanistan withdrawal did more to harm recruiting than many know - to be left to the wolves by your own country is on any potential recruit's mind.

from crimson tide:  we're here to defend democracy, not practice it.
