Hello,

Just wondering, I have submitted my I-129F K1 application back in August 2022 (NOA1 - Aug 19th 2022). Does anyone know the projecting date for NOA2 will be? We are planning our wedding and with booking flight ticket and stuff, so that's kinda hard to plan things without knowing where exactly in the process I am.

My finance is in Vietnam

My application file with: Texas Service Center

Thank you so much.

Ours was filed in July 2022. Visa Journeys projected date for when our case MAY be adjudicated is mid august, but that is just a prediction based on timelines of other members with similiar cases. Also do not forget that it may take 5 to 6 months AFTER its adjudicated before your partner actually gets his/ her visa and there may be RFEs that cause further delays as well. My advice is to stop planning a big wedding and just go to a judge to get married when they arrive and then you can do a big wedding anytime after that without worrying about deadlines and such.

K-1 is not a great choice if you want to plan a wedding.  You stand to lose money on deposits, etc.

And it is not recommended to purchase nonrefundable flight tickets, unless you can afford to lose the money.

You can expect to hear back anywhere from July 19 and August 29 2023. Of course it can be a little later than that so I personally wouldn't schedule a flight or book anything before you actually have your visa in hand. NVC times are hard to estimate right now and I'm not an expert on how medical exam and Consulate in Vietnam work out. But you can keep that timeframe in mind, including the about 4-6 months for NVC, medical exam and interview.

Thank you so much.

Your processing center would be California. If your number starts with WAC, that's California.

Others have said but mid-late July onwards but could be months, then nvc then embassy interview.

I agree that you'll need to probably just plan to have a legal ceremony and then a party later. We're planning legal signing shortly after i arrive then party few months later.

It is impossible to predict the exact timing for your process, each case is different and sometimes the petition or visa are denied.  You have a long way to go if you just filed the petition last August.  Dept. of State always tells applicants not to plan travel or make other non-refundable plans until your fiancé has received his passport with the K-1 visa from the HCMC consulate.  So if you are booking flights and making wedding plans, they should be flexible and refundable.  We have seen many cases here on VJ where couples lost big wedding venue deposits and non-refundable flight tickets when there were delays in the process or even a denial.  Good luck!

I personally found a place happy to be flexible as long as we gave them plenty of warning and didn't book a fri or sat. Can always try reaching out.

The above is projected  processing times for K1 in Texas if your case is trully there

16.5 months for a K1

hope ur case will go faster

Be patient

But Too soon  to make any plans

and never pay for a airline ticket or wedding venue till that visa is in hand

after the embassy interview,  the case goes thru AP for administration processing and may be days,  weeks or months till u get a visa

the best life to u both in the USA

99.9% of I-129F petitions are processed at the California Service Center.  Yours is not at Texas.
