Is that possible to waive greencard requirement to serve in the US military?

Hi there, I currently have a pending asylum case and an interest to join the US military. Military is one of my dream jobs. Obviously, this job has specifics to it that keep me from signing up. I don't have a green card, but I have heard about people who waived that requirement. This requirement was waived by them even after the MAVNI program. This program is over now, and I know that, so I'm just asking if there are any other possibilities. Possibilities like serving temporarily. Possibility of starting to serve. Possibility of being in that military circle.

I would love to hear anything that might come up.

Thanks in advance!

You have no status in the US.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

No

Have you considered the French Foreign Legion.

Pretty sure the US Armed Forces have age limits.

The link in the post above yours states that US citizenship or LPR status is required.  It also lists the different age range requirements by branch of service.

From memory it was chopped because of too many Chinese with shall we say security risks applied.

it also says asylum or refugee and the military recuiter may be able to help his asylum case

and there are 2 many factors here that only the OP knows like

how old he is

how is his asylum case coming along

does he have a clear criminal record in his country and in USA since arrival

what is his education level

and the biggee

Has he registered for the draft

• Virtually all men living in the U.S., including non-citizens, are required to register with Selective Service at www.sss.gov when they turn 18 years old. This includes undocumented immigrants, legal permanent residents, those seeking asylum, and refugees.

I talked to my recruiter. He said he might be able to help me get through this. The process is really confusing.

The main point though is I researched every other factor besides green card. Green card is the only factor I'm not qualified by yet, and it won't matter until bootcamp. Right before starting bootcamp I'll be asked for the green card.

That's basically what's going on, and I'll update further. I think there are people like me who are interested to serve, so it might help them.

Literally never heard of this, thanks for the enlightenment.
