Framboise is so good! My husband and I both enjoy it. Semi-related note, one of our local craft breweries has an imperial Berliner weisse that is a particular favorite, brewed with plums, apricots and vanilla. It's delicious but not too sweet.

Sour ales are my favorite, especially when they hit that balance of sour/sweet just right. Have you had/do you like gose?

I have not tried Gose, but I do like Short's Critterless American Sour Ale, and Short's Melt My Brain Ale (not really a sour ale, more like a G&T as a beer).

Can we also talk about craft cider here? Because I had some really good ones on Sunday from Anna's Cider in Santa Paula -- we went to their cider house for an event, and just had to try a few. https://annascider.com/ The Rose and the Hazy Dry were my favorites.

Back in Ye Olde Country, I used to attend the local CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) Beer Exhibition each year. Except, I was a Divergent Englishman who couldn’t stand beer. So I used to hit the real ciders.

Don’t remember what any of them were called, but the guy who manned the cider table remembered me year after year 😁

Don't interrupt me when I'm talking to myself

My ultimate favorite is a seasonal double IPA brew from a Michigan craft brewer called Hopslam.  Brewed with six different hops and honey, then dry hopped with a seventh variety.  Two are enough at any one time!

I'll try to find it around here.  Some of the smaller breweries do not ship that far.  It sounds delicious.

I was a member of CAMRA for many years, a friend was involved in the Organisation, based in St Albans? Always had a copy of the GBG in the car. I did serve at the GBBF many moons ago when it was Ally Pally. I seem to remember they had Ciders then, of course it was mainly Beer.

I do have a story about hitchhiking around the West Country, must have been 18, we ended up in a Youth Hostel in Devon, the local pub speciality was rough cider, we went down with some Ladies who were staying at the Youth Hostel, the Ladies were restricted to halves, which amused me as I was sure one of them could comprehensively out drink me.

This was all stuff out of barrels, nothing techie, the following morning I woke up with an interesting headache, and could not see, thought I had gone blind. Seems I had splashed some on to my eye lashes and they had stuck. Is this a story for the Beauty Thread?

I like ciders too!  The Rose would be my pick I think.

Bell's is pretty big around here, and I remember seeing it in FL at least on tap.  Here is the beer finder, it may help.

I bet my husband would love that. As an Aussie, he loves non-alcoholic ginger beer (Bundaberg) so I can only imagine ginger cider would be a hit.

I drink Bundaberg ginger beer, not because it is the best, but because it reminds me of the great time I had there. I get all nostalgic...

After discussion with my husband, Hopslam is available here, we'll just need to see if we get that seasonal double IPA :)  Will report back.

Trying a new IPA today, Short’s Freedom of ‘78, brewed with pink guava.  Pretty tasty!  😀

I have had it! Very nice indeed. I think it's a seasonal (winter) pressing.

When I was on a year abroad, we used to go to the Coronation Tap in Bristol where it was said the old landlord only served halves for ladies. When I was there, ladies could order full pints of everything BUT the Exhibition, which is strictly halves for everyone on account of safety (8.4%!). Someone I know who I may or may not be married to once put away 10 halves there, which ended in spectacular fashion halfway between the Cori Tap and his flat.....

We're going to a cookout tomorrow evening --anyone have recommendations for a good beer to bring with us?

What is the temperature?  If warm, Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy.  If not so warm, maybe a nice wheat ale.

It's going to be mid-70s around 4, which is when we're heading over. Summer shandy could be great! I'll see if they stock it at Total Wine. Thank you!
