Can we also talk about craft cider here? Because I had some really good ones on Sunday from Anna's Cider in Santa Paula -- we went to their cider house for an event, and just had to try a few. https:/

Tonight's drink is Boulevard Brewing Co. - Whiskey Barrel Stout Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout.  

Weather is cool and humid, so slowly sipping before bed time.  It is very tasty, not too sweet, and the barrel-aged does not taste chemical.  

Will drink again.

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

My ultimate favorite is a seasonal double IPA brew from a Michigan craft brewer called Hopslam.  Brewed with six different hops and honey, then dry hopped with a seventh variety.  Two are enough at any one time!

@laylalex Certainly welcome in my book, I love a good beer but also love a good cider. Ciderboys is on tap at many locations around where I live and when I'm not in a beer or wine mood, that's my go-to. Do you also happen to enjoy sour ale/fruited sours?

I do! Raspberry/framboise is a particular favorite. Lindemans of course, but also the 10 Barrel Raspberry Sour Crush. That can be really hard to find, though.

The Mrs. Enjoys cider occasionally.  I am not a big fan, just a bit too sweet for me, but I do like a good sour ale.

Framboise is so good! My husband and I both enjoy it. Semi-related note, one of our local craft breweries has an imperial Berliner weisse that is a particular favorite, brewed with plums, apricots and vanilla. It's delicious but not too sweet.

Sour ales are my favorite, especially when they hit that balance of sour/sweet just right. Have you had/do you like gose?
