3/1/23- marriage in Tunisia 
3/23/23- submitted I-130 online
3/23/23- first active review 
3/24/24- mailed I-129f 
4/1/23- I-129f received 
6/13/23- submitted expedite request via Emma (I'm a disabled veteran)
6/13/23- email received denying my expedite 
6/13/23- second active review
6/13/23- approval notice in documents!!!! 

I'm honestly shocked, we've been crying, I was running up and down my hallways at work screaming.

Congratulations.... The I-130 was approved....not a CR-1.  Terminology is important.  .

Not catty at all...just ACCURATE.  Terminology is important in immigration.  Congratulations!!!  Hopefully, the rest of your journey will be smooth.

I-130 petition.  Terminology is important.

 

Next step is NVC, which will take several months.

 

Afterwards, the interview in Tunisia, which may or may not lead to administrative processing.  1 month to several months to over a year.

 

Once the visa is issued then you have a CR1.

 

Enjoy the first round victory, it is time for some celebration.  2 more rounds to go.

I didn't ask for your random input and arbitrary timeline, but thanks. What is with you all trying to rain on my happiness? Jealousy? It won't take over a year because my case is clean and I don't need the backhanded comments. Ya'll are a buzz kill

Just chiming in that the “cleanliness” of the case has most likely little effect on how long the process takes. Yes, obviously people with criminal records take longer, but sometimes people with perfectly straightforward cases can be the unlucky ones that land in the hands of a lazy officer . I’m not saying that this will be your case, but just making the distinction because it is important to be hopeful, yet realistic. 
 

Also, the two folks here that told you that the i-130 is approved and not the CR-1 were actually trying to be realistic with you and make sure you understood this is a part of the process. While it is a milestone, you still have some steps to go through, which can take a while. Hopefully not, but just know it has little to do with the “cleanliness” of your case.

Immigration is a marathon, not a sprint, so it's best to be mentally prepared for a long wait. If your spouse's visa is granted earlier than expected, great! 

 

Just because someone clarifies the difference between an approved petition VS an approved visa, or says that the next steps take a long time, doesn't mean they want to spite you. They are simply giving you estimates based on past experience.

 

If you disagree with their advice, you can review the timelines on this website,  past threads from other members from the same region, even official timelines from USCIS.gov and the local US embassy where your spouse will interview.

Some lucky ones get the sprint experience, most do the marathon.  A few do the ultramarathon, and some others finish having experienced an obstacle race.  (Un)fortunately, most do not pick their path, but being well-prepared can help smooth run.

The speed of your approval has nothing to do with your case is being “clean”. USCIS is working on case based on last in first out. Good for you ! The one who gave you realistic input has nothing to be jealous about as they already reached the finished line aka naturalization or received green card. If you don’t like people to make “buzkill” comment perhaps you shouldn’t publish ur “happiness” in public forum. it’s public after all, people can and allowed to comment any post. And I read all the comments, no one is being catty or give you backhanded comments, don’t know why you so crossed about it 

 

Let us know when you get the immigrant visa in lightning speed as your case is “clean”
