I received my I-130 approval and we are just about ready to submit the I-485 adjustment of status.  Do we need to submit the I-765 from for working as well?  I looked at the form and it basically has all the same questions included in the I-485.  Does the I-485 include being able to be approved for work as well?

i dont see the reason why not since at the moment u dont have to pay for i-765 ( fee is included on i-485) also with i-131. always claim all benefit that you can get. depend on ur local FO, ur i-485 might take long time to be approve, i-765 is the bridge while u are waiting for ur GC. many people said " we dont need it" and turned out later on they really need it for emergency

Thank you, better file it all than not to and need it later.

Will the I-765 allow for travel again as well?

i-765 = work

i-131 = advanced parole ( travel)

If we are filing the I-485 for adjustment of status that should allow travel again though correct?  Or do I need to file the I-131 as well.  Boy there are a lot of documents.

ok here goes :

u file i-485, i-765, i-131

the last 2 to be a bridge while you are waiting for ur i-485 to be approved

back in the day those 2 will be approved quickly ( within 3 months) so u can work + travel while u still waiting for ur i-485 to be adjudicate. it's called combo card ( 1 card has 2 benefits)

nowdays is all over the place, i -765 can be approve in 1 month or 6 months who knows. while most i-131 never been approved.

once u got ur GC, u can burn that i-765 and i-131 if you like ( jk) those 2 become obsolete once u got green card

and yes, green card = u can travel outside USA

any reason why u dont file everything concurrently? most people did that if there's no issue ( for example removal proceeding). means i-130, i-130A ( spouse), i-485, i-765, i-131, i-864, i-693 ( medical have to go to civic doctor). i asked because u said u got i-130 approved

just read this to educate urself :

I didnt realize I could file the I-485 with the I-130.  So I did that first.  My mistake for sure.  We have the I-485 filled out, waiting for the Civic Doctor paperwork returned (we went to the Doctor last week once I realized we could file that concurrently).  I just didn't want to file the I-485 without asking about the I-765 first. I will definately file the I-131 just in case.  We really would love to go visit his family and I am so excited to meet them face to face. I truly appreciate all the information you have given me.  Thank you so very much and I will read that attachment.
