Do not reschedule. It does not matter the date your interview. The important part is the day you cross the border on that visa. If it is before your 2yr anniversary it would be a CR1, 2yr anniversary it is a IR1.

If you enter after your 2yr anniversary and they send you a 2 yr GC you can get it corrected.

Oh okay! I had no clue it was based on the entry date. I'm so relieved now, thank you so much for your response :)

Received my passport with Visa today, interview was Tuesday.
Hopefully the remaining April and May DQs receive IL this month, very strange it is taking longer than expected! ILs come out usually mid month, most likely will be 14-18 this month.

Hey do you mind telling me where your passport was shipped to and if you paid for the courier service or just used the free option?

I paid $23 for premium delivery and it was delivered to my home address within the GTA.

How was your interview??

I was just going to post about it so here it goes!

A few weeks ago I got an email with a different appointment time, so this morning I went at the first appointment time and asked which one I should attend since I didn't want to miss it! The guard at the door said come back at 1045 which was the time in the most recent interview update. I grabbed breakfast and went back to the hotel to chill.

At 1045 I was back at the consulate and checked in. The guy at the door checks you off a list, you go through the door and a person immediately to the right checks your passport, gives you a ticket with your appointment number on it and then you go through security and put your phone in a tiny locker and then go up the elevator.

Once there I was immediately called into a room and asked for:

My birth certificate

Marriage certificate

My husband's 2022 taxes

My RCMP check

Passport Photo

Passport

(I had a folder of 20 other things so I was surprised that's all he wanted)

They asked about my address, my husband's address, phone number, where I would be living. And then had me sit back down and wait for the interview.

About 20 mins later I was called to a different portal with a different person who asked:

My husband's full name

How we met

What our wedding was like

What my husband does for work

After that, she told me her system was down but she intends to set me for approval and I should have my stuff back in 2-3 weeks.  I was there for less than an hour, I was surprised at how quick it was!

Anyways, here's hoping for a quick processing... my husband and I are so excited at the thought of putting this process behind us!

Hi, is there an option to have it picked up somewhere? I don't have a reliable permanent address for delivery - hence the ask.

I did this because my neighborhood has a porch pirate issue and I wanted to take zero chances. My pickup point is just the downtown post office in my city.

My interview was today so I will let you know how it goes with pickup.

Thanks for confirming - so essentially you can specify any pickup point in Canada? I plan to have my pick-up somewhere in downtown Toronto.

For me it was the main downtown post office, but Winnipeg isn't as large as Toronto so they could have multiple I suppose, but you'll at least have your city's Canada Post HQ to pick up from I think.

Hey to everyone who have received their passports back after interview recently can you please input how long it took, where is was sent (did you pick it up in Mtl etc) and if you used the free delivery option.

Hey there! I got my passport after a day and half. I paid the $23 premium delivery and it was sent directly to my house. They send tracking information so you can anticipate when it will arrive.

...thanks for asking.

I haven't gotten a lot of messages about it, and I haven't been diving deep for data divulgence either. So it's been back-burnered for a bit.
