Question about single status certificate

Hello everyone. I have a question about a required document for my fiancee.

She has finally  received her interview date for her K1 Visa.

One of the required documents she must bring with her is the single status certificate.

My question is do I need to obtain one as well for her to bring to the interview with her or is that entirely for her.  She is from Thailand and I am a U.S. citizen

I've never even heard of such a document.

Thanks for your time.

This is a document some countries have to show they are not married.

The US does not have a national database of marital status so it is not needed on your side.

Only she has to show the document. Is she Thai and interviewing in Thailand?

Hi, and thank you for the response.  Yes she is Thai living in Thailand.  She will be interviewing at the Embassy in Thailand.

I'm from Phoenix, AZ.

She is the one who actually brought it to my attention and after going through all the needed documents she indeed needs the Single certificate.  She thinks we need one from each of us so I am checking on it.

Thanks again

Some counties and some states offer this, despite it proving nothing. Maricopa and Arizona do not seem to be among them.

This document is only required if you are a Thai National (From the instructions):

Marital Status Certificates(Thai nationals): All fiancé(e) K1 visa applicants who are Thai nationals should submit a marital status certificate. Also known as the Single Status Certificate, this is obtainable at the local district office (Thai Amphur). It should state that the local district office completed a review of the Family Registration Database.

You won't be able to obtain this document unless you yourself are a Thai national.

Someone from the UK or France or South Africa or Nigeria interviewing for a K1 in Thailand would not be able to (or expected to) produce this document.
