My fiance is in the process of collecting his forms to submit for his visa interview. He's waiting for his police check form to come in (they didn't have the form at his local office, so they're sending it to him). Once the form is filed, about how long does it take for the report to come back? He's been told several different things by different people - anywhere from 40 days to 90 days. Does anyone know where I can find an accurate time line on this - or can someone who's been through the process tell me how long it took for you? Thanks :)

The actual report takes up to 40 days; this date is calculated from the date written on the receipt they will send you. This can often take up to two weeks to get to you after you've posted your application.

For safeties sake I always suggest that people leave at LEAST 8 weeks for getting their police certificate.

Thanks - I think this might explain some of the discrepancies :)

I got the Subject Acess Forms online, filled them sent it off with my check for 10 quid, and it took around the 30 day mark for the Glasgow Police check to come back and another 10 days after that for the National Police check to come back, thats the one the Embassy is interested in most!

Hope this helps
