There is biometrics for AOS (fingerprints (10), signature and picture) and biometrics for EAD (picture and one fingerprint). These are usally done at the same appointment.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

It takes about 15 minutes depending on how many people there are ahead of you. Take your appointment letter, an id (also the married certificate if changing name) and you are all set. Good luck

Yup, you have to go... This is one of the requirements needed for your AOS... If you don't have this, you may be denied for your application or it will lengthen your AOS process...

Hi guys, I am a filipina too..just a question about my case-- I had my AOS interview recently in Newark but the INS put me in PENDING indefinitely. Officer showing us impression that he will deny our AOS during the interview. I need some advice and examples that probably will encourage us to go on and fight for our love and marriage. I will appreciate it if you could help us. Thank you.

Gigi2006, you would do better to post this as a separate thread -- more easily accessed by people that have been through denials and whatnot. :)

As for the biometrics: yes, you need to go to them because you have to be fingerprinted and photographed. If I remember aright, biometrics also kicks off the name check in many cases. :)

I thought that you were supposed to have your picture taken at your (AOS) biometrics appointment? Therefore, why would you have to take a picture to that appointment too?

If somebody could confirm this asap, I'd so much appreciate it. My (AOS) biometrics appointment is scheduled for next week.

Thanks so much in advance. :)

EDIT:

Just re-reading this thread again... and I think I misunderstood 'dp8255'.

I think that perhaps they meant to say that at your AOS biometrics they take your fingerprints, your picture and evidently your signature. The way that it was worded confused me - that's all.

However, I know that I've seen others around here clearly say that you need to bring (passport) pictures to your AOS biometrics, and so I'd still love to have a confirmation on that.

Thanks.

I won't have my biometrics appointment until tomorrow, but I just re-read the instructions on the appointment letter, and it clearly says "you must bring 1. this appointment notice 2. photo identification", nothing else.

Maybe you confused the "photo identification" with the "photos"....?
