Changing ticket date for china airlines???

Dear all,

I just wonder is there anyone here ever use china airlines?

My question are:

1. If the ticket valid for 6 month. But then for some reasons my mom need to stay longer than 6 months (and it's approved by INS), can we extend the ticket? Or it's consider as expired and we need to buy new ticket (one way) to go back to our country?

2. Base on your experience, how much you had to pay to change the date?

I need this info before I get my mom a ticket, because we might be will try to extend her I 94 later to INSfor stay longer than 6 month (might be another 3 month, so we can celebrate my birthday together). But we still confuse whether we will get her 1 year ticket or 6 month ticket.

Buy 1 year ticket is our last option cause it's cost more and we are not sure whether the extended will be approve or not (don't want to waste some money for uncertaintly things).

A one year return ticket may also make the CBP officer at the POE wonder about the intentions at the time of entry.

Yeap ...I agree with you....that's also one of some reasons I don'tt want to get that 1 year ticket.

Cause all I want just to get my mom get here smoothly. And if possible stay longer if not then she has to go back as written in I 94.

BTW my mom visited us last year for 3.5 months (even though the immigration gave her 6 months, she needed to go back earlier at that time). This time she might be will stay longer if possible so she can spend more time with us and our new baby.

Depends on the fare class of the ticket and the restrictions of that fare class by the airline. Pay a higher fare, and you get a more flexible ticket. Some really low fare tickets may not be able to be rescheduled.
