The smell of chlorine (if thats what i'm smelling - smells downright disgusting) from the tap water here makes me yack, i for one refuse to drink tap water, i'm too used to drinking pure clean tap water from scotland, with none of the stuff thats in the water here, so purified bottled water works fine for me, hubby lugs 2 cases a week for me from the grocery store and doesnt complain, he's more than happy to do it seeing as i quit drinking soda a few months back.

Most tap water is fine to drink. People just like to waste money.

have you ever drank LA water..?? :P

I don't feel like I am wasting money either.....

I should maybe invest in a good filter, then I could filter my own water but I like the convenience of the bottled water....

get a brita water filter. i used to use one in germany.

I didn't think there was anything wrong with German tap water when I lived there.......

I HATE Dallas/Ft Worth water, though. It smells ..." mossy" [or something] to me. Can anyone tell me what the heck that smell is in their water?

Here in East Texas, it's good, but we drink it cold filtered from the fridge anyway.

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

Our tap water here in BFE Indiana smells like bleach. If you fill a tub for a bath, it's just like being in an over-chlorinated swimming pool. Mags hasn't drank from the tap here at all that I'm aware of. We lug cases of bottled water home from the store every week. I don't care that it's from a "public water source", as long as it ain't from OUR public water source.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

People, people...check it out...

I'm a germophobe and whatnot...and I have a water tester. Most bottled water is nasty! Tap water even with the best filter is almost off the charts! But you know those machines where you put the 5 gallon jugs under? On a scale of 0 - 200 part per million, it's like 20 or summat.

I can't remember the number exactly, but it's something ridiculously low like that. Awesome water. And even awesome ice cubes. You know how ice cubes look frostyish? Ice made from that water is clear.

But it's gotta be a reverse osmosis machine. And truthfully, the ppm vary depending on which machine you use....so get a water tester if you're unsure.

Buy yourself one of those dispensers, and start drinking water from there. 5 gallons is like $1.25.

Back when I owned a house, I had Culligan install a reverse osmosis system for our tap water.

Right now I buy Crystal Geyser in the gallon container - we go through about 6 gallons a week.
