I am guessing you've swalloed a dictionary by the tone of your post.

I have a high standard of education...so...

no need to 'educate me' buddy boy.

You used the word encourage.

I agree with your dictionary, point '2', yes I offered support to.

Isnt that what this forum is for?

MY belief is that perseverance pays off. I may be wrong. I have been known to be, many times in life.

Obviously more so than yourself....

There is no need to defend your education to me. That has no relevance to this thread. I did not make any point about your educational standard.

I'm just pointing out that by posting and saying that you received an interview by sending out a lot of e-mails you gave encouragement for others to follow. It's called leading by example. It is wrong what you did? Surely not since others do the same, that is send a lot of e-mails in the hope of a reply. Another one of my point is that if everyone sends more e-mails than needed, then fewer people will receive any reply. Eventually, London will be sick of answering e-mail and stop responding altogether. Before you say this won't happen, let me point out that this has happened at other consulates.

Although you DID try to educate me as to what 'encourage' means?

OK, lets say you're right, I should've kept my mouth shut.

I emailed yesterday and was told there was no receipt of my p3....then today, I get an email, to say they have my p3, and interview scheduled.

Some people in life are content with sitting at the back and waiting. In my life and business I HAVE TO try as hard as I can....and that included pushing for an interview date. Its worked for 2 other people I know.

Call it encourage, call it support, call it what you will, I make no apologies for offering my advice and experience on this forum.

I titled the thread 'in my opinion' as that is all it is, 'my opinion'.

It is not a guarantee, or legal advice, just simply....and opinion!

Thank you :)

I can see 'scy''s point of view, but at this stage, I see the other side of the coin and decided that to keep on trying was the better option.

I have my reasons for this, as does everyone, but my reasons were vital enough for me to persevere. maybe if I didnt have specific reasons for needing to get to my fiancee ASAP, I might not have sent quite as many emails.

In actual fact I emailed probably every other day over the past week or two. So I didnt blanket mail them every hour, so to speak. Though in some folks' opinion, I emailed far too much.

To them, I have a reply, 'If you want to sit on your ####### and wait, Good luck to you'.

I also feel for the individuals still waiting and cannot comprehend why folk have not had their date, even though they sent their p3 off sometime before me. So, do i sit back and just watch them go through the mill, or offer my advice and opinions?

Thanks Robin. There's an old saying to which I took with me into the music industry 'if you dont ask, then you dont get'.

I think thats right!

I dunno if emailing works, it has been lucky for ME. Otherwise, it may be the luck of the draw. If emailing is not the right way...how does their system work in London, I'd love to know!

Just a note: I called my spouse's consulate 5 times in one day because I wanted to find out his interview date. On the 5th call, I did get the answer I was looking for. I posted my experience in a regional thread so that others after me could understand what possible communication options are. ... Because the protocols of these consulates are so opaque, it helps to know how effectively some strategies can work.

Good for you, Richi, and best of luck next month. 3 months for a K1 in London is awesome, and I'm sure your SO is pleased (as my husband was) that this process is ending relatively quickly. It will be 4 months for us, provided he's approved at the interview on Tuesday.

You will never grow old to me, or die, or be lost in any way.

I also have to agree that persistance pays off. Back in July I was told there were severe delays at the London Embassy and the wait for an interview date would be 12 weeks. After two weeks of sending back packet 3 I e-mailed them on a daily basis from Monday to Friday, and then on the Friday afternoon they finally e mailed me a date. Good on yer Richi, and like you said, its your money you have spent so why shouldnt you e mail them? If the facility is there, then use it!

As far as London goes, I think there are 2 things that get you an interview date.

Correct and complete paperwork.

Completion of the checklist - including the 'travel date' and 'wedding date'.

We also received a date late July last year after only a 3 week wait. We did email, but only about once a week. This was the time period where the longer delays in London started to occur. As is well documented here, recently the wait time to just learn about the date (let alone have the interview) has mushroomed. However, there was a recent poster here who fillled out her paperwork properly and stated very urgent travel and wedding dates. Her request was granted. Conversely, there is anecdotal evidence aplenty on this board of those leaving the dates blank who wait long past the timelines of their peers to receive information.

The London consulate is one of the best run and most efficient. It is also one of the most 'stress free' as far as interviews go. Their recent performance may have been hampered by a medical system that changed last spring and created a backlog. Time will tell if a new medical provider returns them to quicker turnaround times.

When you get to your AOS, there is no e-mail. And there is no INFOPASS for 90 days. You are with your spouse by then so waiting is much easier. But there is still waiting.

The best one can ever do is USE THE GUIDES here. ASK FOR ADVICE here. And try not to stress. (F)

Well, James sent it all off yesterday, so now I'm deciding how soon until I should start bugging them. I've seen two weeks but that seems like a long time to wait....I know they need to get it in the system though.

I should have had James attach a note saying he needs to be here end of April so he can actually have a tux for the wedding! ;)

I agree with you Richi...we sure pay enough to have the right to pester these people.

It's every man/woman for themselves and if our emails cause others to get no reply, then they should be emailing more as well...nothing stops them.

Personally I emailed every other day, I thought that was fair
