Hey everyone,I had my AOS interview on the 26th in Juneau,Alaska and it went horribly wrong and it was so annoying and confusing. The interviewer started by making us take an oath and after the usual questions about where and when we meet and stuff like that, he started asking my wife how come she has been married twice before and also asked her about her 2 previous marriages and why has she always been married to people of colour and not someone who was white like she is(i am an african from nigeria). He also made the statement that he has no access to the USCIS website and therefore could not stamp my passport and later changed the topic to me being nigerian and asking my wife if she is aware of nigerian scams and that once he approves me,he can't change it anymore and therefore he is keeping the approval pending for sometime for more investigation which he said can take up to a year after which if we haven't gotten a decison from USCIS we can file a complaint at a court. He then said if we have no questions we can leave and when we said doesn't he want to look at all the evidence we brought with us,he said no. I feel so annoyed right now and my wife and I were really down but we cheered each other up and we have faith in God and He knows best.

Man! I thought ours was bad! You had it much worse. Did your wife adjust status for either of the other 2 husbands? That might have been SOME of why the officer said what he did, but I agree, if what you say is true, some of it is simply racist. I had adjusted status (but not did visa) for my ex, and 1/3 of our interview was about my previous relationship...I too got upset because I don't like to even think about him, let alone discuss him in front of my current husband. :crying:

I hope your investigation goes fast. Not sure if an immigration atty or congress person can help you or not. Maybe others with more experience will give you advice. :luv:

My wife hadn't even heard of a K1 visa until we met and never adjusted status for any of her exes and that is what is so annoying because there was no genuine reason on God's earth to hold on to our approval.

If what you describe above actually took place, then it is good grounds for a federal lawsuit. You and your wife should contact a lawyer. It's not right you two were treated this way.
