Hi,

I'm a foreign fiance. I applied for the K-visa and was approved on 27 Mar :). I'm going to move to the US in May and we want to get married in June/Jul. Now we're thinking if it's a good idea to get married in Las Vegas as there're so many chapels. btw, we won't organise any grand wedding ceremony/banquets. We just want to have a simple wedding ceremony. So i'd like to get some ideas from you all !

Did you get married in Las Vegas? How was it? Any good chapels to recommend? Or if you have any other ideas, I'd also like to hear. :P

Thanks!

Lots of chapels. from drive-thru to formal. up to you.

We were married in a small chapel Vegas.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

I live in Clark County NV

$55 for marriage license...good for one year

$15 for certified copy of marriage certificate. Usually available about a week after you get married.

$10 for certified copy of marriage license. You can apply for one when you get the license. They say that it is required by the SS Administration to get your SSN card changed if there is a name change.

There is a marriage commissioner near the marriage license office where they will marry you for a small fee. I think you need to bring your own witnesses (they said that only one is required in Nevada).

Otherwise use a chapel....all over LV. They even have one where you drive thru, you dont even have to get out of your car.

I used a local minister here in the town that I live which is near LV.

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

Good morning!

I wanted to pass on my personal recommendation for a wedding chapel in Las Vegas. There is an excellent place called Little Chapel of the Flowers http://www.littlechapel.com/ .

It is small, very cute wedding chapel and it is hidden amongst the many casinos of Las Vegas. I was part of a wedding that was held at this chapel, and they helped make it a beautiful day for everyone. Thank God this was situation, because I was the person that chose this place.....

All of the arrangements can be made online, they can pick you up at a local hotel and they do a great job at a very reasonable price. Something different with this Chapel, is that you can have your ceremony shown live on the internet.....You would send friends & family an email to invite them to attend, and then they would log in to watch this beautiful day.

Good luck and hope this will be of help to you.

There is a marriage commissioner near the marriage license office where they will marry you for 50 dollar fee. You need to bring your own witnesses (only one is required in Nevada). or you can wait until another couple shows up and be each others witnesses. When you come out of the marriage license office be prepared to be sourranded by the wedding chapel hockers.

We were married at the commissioner with my children and mother there in 2004. Good luck

Meh, i think Vegas is a horrible place - cheap and tacky.

A good many states will allow you to deputize someone for the day (say your best friend) who can then perform the marriage ceremony for you. That's what me and The Yank did...got married at a gorgeous vineyard (owned by a friend), had another family friend (The Yank's mentor when he was a kid) do the ceremony. We had close family and friends and the only thing that really cost any money was the reception afterwards.

You could also find a gorgeous outdoor setting somewhere that you like and get married there too, much nicer than Vegas IMHO and much more personal.

I got married to my first husband in Vegas at a chapel there. It was not cheap nor tacky. I believe the name of the place was The Mission of the Bells. I don't remember it being very expensive .... but it was a long time ago (93) and I don't really remember what we paid.

Johnny and I got married in a church here in my town. We actually used the chapel instead of the sanctuary and we paid only $250 for the chapel, the janitor, the minister, and the piano lady.
