Is there 1 brown envelope of each person or 2 envelopes for each ? and what about the lung x-ray films? Thai,

IF your wife get approve for Visa, She will get her passport back with a Visa glued to one of the passport page. She will get a sealed envelop that she needs to show it at the POE in US, and her XRAY film.

Make sure do not open that Sealed Envelop, ;) When she fly to the US, tell her do not put all those stuff in the luggage and send it on the plane. Carry that stuff with her. Sealed envelop, and the X-Ray film. Make it as a carry on. Good Luck

In the past before the TB scare bs x rays weren't necessary to have after arriving in the US.

However some peeps are being asked for them by the DCS for AOS if their skin test is positive.

Some POEs do take them also.

Pain in the butte but best to hand carry on the plane.

My wife didn't and had get her luggage and to dig thru her bags to get them.

They took hers. What they do with them is beyond me!

Took a additional 1/2 hour.

Hang, did you get the Xray film the same time when you get your passport/visa ? or they gave you the xray film right after the interview ?

What if a person got her visa without the xray film? Can we resquest the consulate to give that back ?

They never kept my wife's x-ray, the CO just looked at it, then gave it right back to her, she brought it out of the consulate right after her interview. Also, we never had to show it at our POE, though we did bring it with us, just in case.

The Xray film was inside the medical's documents that IOM gave to me and it was sealed. At the interview day i gave it to the first CO (Vietnamese man) and he tear the medical's package. He took something inside (i don't know what it is because i couldn't see) and he gave me back the bag with Xray-film inside. He didn't keep it.
