Should be G-325a in quadruplicate, not G-325.

If you haven't already purchased the money orders I recommend a personal check instead. They are much easier to track but that only tells you they've opened your package and put it in the process instead of sending it back. Not a big worry for properly filed petitions.

Good catch on the G-325A. I will modify my table of contents to correctly reflect the form number and the fact that I am including the 4 copies for each.

I have decided to send money orders despite the inability to track them.

kittykat,

You are right in that waiting for NOA1 is the standard procedure. However, USCIS has been telling people to send the two packets in together. I was given this advice by a USCIS officer and I personally know of two other members who have been given the same advice.

There have been a few reasons given for this. First of all, if you send in the I-130 with the pre-change fee($190) but do not receive the NOA1 until after July 30, it is unclear how USCIS will handle the fee for your I-129F. This could end up causing major delays.

Also, the USCIS has changed the process for submitting the I-129F. It is no longer to be sent to the Chicago lock box. You are now instructed to send them to CSC or VSC depending on your location. Judging by your timeline, you could have sent yours to the appropriate service center. Your I-129F petition will be forwarded so don't worry.

I was specifically instructed to send both packets with a joint cover letter to the Texas Service Center as it covers my region. Hopefully, this will save me a month or so.

Peace.

Hey ColombianoGringo!!!!

I cannot predict what is going to happen with your stuff....just know that mine are ending up at the CSC. I'm in Florida and I filed  the "old way" and look how things turned out. I wonder if the Texas Service Center will forward your forms to the CSC too???

Hey Craig. I just got through thanking you in my other topic.

Yes, they will forward both packages to CSC. I was told this by the same officer who instructed me to send them together. Even though they will be forwarded, I still avoid the wait for NOA1 and I feel more comfortable knowing the packages stay together.

Good luick with Karina's K-3.

Adam,

Thanks. You might also consider sending the I-130 and I-129F packets together. That is the current advice coming from USCIS. You will need to send your I-129F to CSC anyways. You can send them both to TSC at the same time and they forward everything to CSC. This will save you the wait for the NOA1 on the I-130 which could be a few weeks to over a month.

Good luck,

Ok, you guys are making me worried! I sent my 1-130 package on Friday July 27. I sent the $190 becuase it will be post marked before July 30. I was going to wait for the NOA1 and then sent the 1-29f. Should I send it before the notice? I was planning on putting the $170 in with my 1-29f as per routine before July 30. The USCIS should expect a little change over period since some people were bound to file right at the change time. What do you think?
