i know that i just posted about the italian police certificate, maybe i should have combined the two posts...but oh well, its a bit late for that so i will proceed

i am wondering who here has obtained an albanian police certificate, and how long it took? my fiance is convinced that he can obtain all of the necessary interview documents within one day...i tried to tell him that it took me weeks/months to get all of the info in order to send in my 129F, but he doesnt listen...maybe he just thinks im retarded and/or paranoid

anyone obtain the district court and/or criminal record from the ministry of justice as well??? how long for those?

thanks

hi, my SO is albanian. im in albania now visiting him. We went to the police station at around 7 in the morning and asked for a background check from the "ministry" and they said ok and for us to come back at 2PM. we showed up at 2 and there was a crowd of people. you just stand there and they call your name from a window and hand out the papers to the crowd when you say "here". so it was the same day.

as for birth certificate... took 1 day also. make sure you bring a passport picture for them to staple to the birth certificate.

good luck.

i forgot to mention that for the birth certificate you will need to go to the city he was born in to obtain it. as for the police report, i think it can be done in any city. EX. my SO was born in Korca and had to go there for the BC but he got the police record from tirana.

one other question...do i need to obtain district court and attorney records even if he has never commited a crime? are those included with the police certificate, or do we have to go to another place to get those?

in albania??? there is only 1 kind of police record. ( i think).

it will say

SoandSo is found UNPUNISHED in the country of Albania.

thats what we gave and it worked.

ok thanks, i was just confused because the packet 3 lists those as a requirement...i guess you might only need those if the person has commited an offense...thanks again

Hello babyblueSusie,

I am kind of in the same situation right now with the process. Did you have to get all three records as it was stated in the package received by the NVC?

Thank you so much!

This is an old post....don't know if you will get an answer. Yes, you need everything

I just so happened to log in after not being around for a very long time. The short answer is yes, you need all of the documents. We went to the interview without having obtained everything, and had to go get the remaining documents and return for a second interview. You can check out my review of the interview in Tirana here. I go into great detail about the interview, and explain where to obtain the necessary documents. Hopefully that helps!
