Missouri is super slow?

Why is Missouri super slow? At every other service center they produce a card and it ships within a few days. Here, they produce the card and it takes weeks? Maybe this is just a ramp, but at the consulate entering the country, it took 1 day to print a card, and 1 day to put it in the mail. How long do you think it really takes? I just don't understand, I even offered to go down to Missouri and pick it up, but that didn't work *sigh*... the only reason I ask is because I have heard multiple complaints about how it's taking forever to receive the EAD card. At this rate, might as well just get the green card since it takes this long for the EAD and defeats the purpose of it...

EAD cards are printed in Kentucky I think. That's where mine came from and my EAD application never left Missouri. Maybe Kentucky is having problems recently? Mine surprisingly came fast after receiving the card production ordered.

That's the first I've heard of EADs coming from Kentucky. My EAD came with a Lee's Summit, MO return address. Is the Kentucky thing new?

Did you look on the postmark of the envelope? The postmark on mine is a Kentucky zip code but the return address says Lee's Summit.

Corbin, Kentucky is where the "Integrated Card Production System (ICPS)" is located.

Hmm..... I don't remember looking at the postmark I must admit, just the return address.

OK. Interesting.

Hmm..... I don't remember looking at the postmark I must admit, just the return address.

I only looked at my postmark because I was floored I got mine so fast since everything that actually came out of Missouri (like my NOA1 and my interview date) took so damn long. So I looked at the postmark and checked the zip code and found out it came from KY even though the return address is Lee's Summit, Missouri.

Apparently the Corbin, KY facility (they are a contract company) also produces the greencards.

Misa, do you think it was irregualr that you got it so fast? I mean, I had production a few days ago and am just waiting now. I know for sure on the 24th it was sent to the facility to be produced, and frankly, how long does it really take to make a card? 10 seconds?

The other thing I totally do NOT understand is why they don't make us pay more and let us track the shipment? I feel like a lot of people have lost their cards?!

What I don't understand is, if your cardproduction was ordered 4 days ago, why you are saying they are slow? I would understand if you were waitingfor 4 weeks, but 4 days? Come on!

BTW, it would be really helpful if you'd fill in your timeline, not only to give you better info and answers to your questions, but as well to help others by updating the VJ statistics.

Thank you!

July 24th or June 24th? July 24th was only 3 days ago.

It took me 4 days so I thought it was fast. Wasn't mailed from KY until 2 days after the card production ordered date and only took 2 days for me to get it by mail. I was prepared to wait up to 30 days for it.

OP posted yesterday that cardproduction was ordered.

On the notice it says clearly to wait at least 30 days for card to arrive in the mail. If you get it earlier, that's just a nice bonus!

"Application Type: I765 , APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION

Current Status: Card production ordered.

On XXXXX XX, 2007, we ordered production of your new card. Please

allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you."

Ah gotcha. Yeah, it's a little early to be wondering where the card is if it's only been a few days.

I wasn't talking about my case, I meant in general given feedback on the forum as well as their own admission that it takes about 15 days to receive it. The only reason I'm complaining is because this whole process has taken longer than they had originally indicated (my application was April 11th... and this is way beyond the 90-day period). I mean to be fair, 1-2 more weeks and I'll be doing the Green Card interview, which makes this whole EAD process pretty much pointless.

Apologies for not updating timeline, will do that thsi weekend with my papers.
