I sent inquiries every week. I’d send on a Friday and usually got a response by the following Thursday.

They literally will not let my fiancée schedule an interview. She paid the fee in person and was told to give it at least 4 hours to validate. More than 12 hours later it still will not let her schedule saying the receipt number is invalid.

I got my case number on my 3rd inquiry and I got my invoice number today after my 4th inquiry. I still haven't recieved an official letter in the mail or via email. My inquiry response today said they will notify me once it has been forwarded to my embassy. Am I to assume I don't pay any fees yet? 🤔

If this is for K1, guidance is to wait till your case is “Ready”, I.e. with embassy then file DS-160 and pay fees to subsequently schedule interview. Also check with your embassy website page if they have something more.

That said, what’s a “invoice number” and how does it get used in the K1 visa process?

side questions but how long are police background checks good for? Is it a year or if police certificate says 6 months on it

I would go with the minimum duration of 1 year OR the date on your PCC.
However, if you have not gone back to the country even if PCC issued by that country has expired, then it is treated as valid.

my certificate says six months on it from home country :( will their rule of 2 years override that?

I am waiting for the German embassy to send Packet 3, which supposedly they still do in Frankfurt and I am going crazy yet again even though it has been only 10 days since the status changed to "Ready".

The continuous waiting experience is so insane.

I feel your pain!  I'm waiting for access to the schedule in the DR.  We submitted the DS-160 and paid the visa fee on Sept 1 and still nothing!  A few people have gotten access though so I'm hopeful that we can get in soon!

I'm a very patient person but this is tryinggggggggg!
