Then apply, travelling is obviously a two way option

If I didn't have a medical condition and were able to travel..I would t have created this post.  The whole point is I am NOT able to fly because of a medical condition that requires specialized care at the moment.  It is not because we can't afford it nor I was denied a visa to his home country..it is simply because I am not able to fly at the moment.  It is not a self imposed restriction that I placed on myself.  I hope this is clear.

Boiler meant that your bf should be the one to travel, which is exactly what USCIS will say in their denial of a waiver.

Like others have said, he can try to fly to Canada or Mexico.

Look, you asked for feedback, right?   You have VJ’s senior members commenting on your thread, which means years and years and years of experience with US immigration.

Don’t like the feedback?   Feel free to ignore it and pursue  your path as you wish.   Please report back to us how you fare, and good luck.

Cool.   Go for it.

If I had an issue with the comments...I would have stated it. I am tired of repeating myself to a question that has been asked many different ways but the condition is still Constant. Folks are staying meet him as if I don't want to meet him.  Folks are saying travel to Mexico or Canada as if that would make a difference in my condition.  All I am asking should we or shouldn't we apply for the tourist visa or apply for K1 visa with waiver.  I will be not be able to travel anywhere at this point so that is clear.

That is why we are applying for the tourist visa but folks saying he will be denied.  So it sounds like he shouldn't apply for anything because he will be denied anyways.

He can apply for tourist visa /we say chances he will get one are low

the fees are expected to go up  from $160 to $185 sometime this year

i will add to your prayers for his success

Understand a few things

If he gets the tourist visa ,u still have to meet several times and with each trip to the US , he will be under high security briefing at POE

And he should not bring any documents like a  birth certificate, resume , etc./ documents that would make CBP think he intended to stay and AOS here

ALL of us here understand love and immigration and really do wish u the best but African embassies make it so hard to get visas.

so, good luck

I never said he would be denied, all I know is that he is male and his citizenship

How could you possibly make a determination on that?

read thru the following from someone trying to get a visa without meeting

this follows the petition and appeal for denial

this was truly a hardship case as petitioner was blind with other issues

this might help  understand immigration doesn't care -sounds harsh but its what i see (my opinion only about the not caring)

The intent is to file for K1 once we are eligible to file.  We could have asked for a waiver but we want to show we have made efforts to meet to satisfy the criteria.  The question is how should we amplify that our relationship is geniune ans we are trying to do the right thung??????

K1 requirements, meeting within 2 years of  all the years on VJ, ( with original profile from 2007)   I never seen a K1 visa petition approved with a wavier due to not meeting.

Even with all good intentions of meeting, even with a heath issue keeping from meeting at the moment.     Even a lawyer would say, " Then wait until you can travel."

Visitors Visa to US,    Has to show strong ties to his country, such as a good job, home, or own a business.  Strong reason to return to his country, especially from Africa.

A letter- invitation from you would not help at all, a visitor's visa is what HE applies for, not you. It's all on him.

Also keep in mind, the person on the other side of the computer screen can very well NOT be the person you think they are. Be careful inviting someone into you home who you truly do not know if a Visitor's Visa is somehow approved.

Best of luck whatever way you file.
