Covid vaccines

My wife has not any covid vaccines.  I am the petitioner.  Her interview is coming up in July for IR 1 visa. I thought I read just recently that only 1 is required now for the visa.  The second dose is for her to do whenever she has time.

I can't find the article again.   Does anyone know if the 2 dose requirement change?

Thanks

As far as I know, fully vaccinated means 2 doses (P or M) or a complete series..

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

A person who received a single dose of J&J is fully vaccinated.

As of 3 weeks ago CDC even further updated "Technical Instructions for Panel Physicians" with very substantially loosened guidelines for rona-vax on  immigration physicals.  Basically applying the same standard as any other vax.  ie, give any due shot of the series, including even just the first, of any WHO EUL vax if Pfizer or Moderna are not available (even China-vax but possibly not sputnik) . "Insufficient time interval between doses" blanket waiver applicable for other missing doses.  It seems a rather huge change.

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement

  • Continue to focus on the primary series at this time. Applicants who are due for the first, second or third dose of a primary series should receive the one dose for which they are due, but should no longer be delayed to complete the entire series before completing the exam. Applicants who have completed a primary COVID-19 series prior to the exam require no additional COVID-19 doses for immigration.
  • Whenever possible, use bivalent vaccine formulations according to the current CDC guidance to fulfill this requirement. For adults, if these formulations are not available, use any other approved* formulation. For applicants under the age of 18 years, use only the Pfizer or Moderna bivalent formulations or Novavax COVID-19 vaccine according to CDC guidance, and if not available, use the “Not routinely available” blanket waiver.

For applicants who have received one or more doses but have not completed the primary series and are not yet due for the next dose in the series at the time of the exam, use the “Insufficient time interval between doses” blanket waiver.
  • As with other vaccinations, additional doses recommended for older age groups, health conditions or immunocompromise are not required for immigration. Although booster doses are not currently required, please refer to this page frequently for future guidance regarding COVID-19 boosting schedule.

* The COVID-19 vaccines approved for use in these Technical Instructions are those vaccines authorized for emergency use (EUA) or approved under a Biologics License Application (BLA) by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or listed for emergency use (EUL) by the World Health Organization (WHO).
