Electric vehicles have an efficiency problem

A police pursuit of a stolen vehicle through Hollywood on Thursday night came to an abrupt end as the car, an electric Tesla, ran out of battery in the middle of the road.

According to stringer service KeyNews, the pursuit originated in Koreatown, in the area of Western Avenue and 8th Street, when the Tesla Model S was reported stolen around 11:35 p.m. Police pursued the car into Hollywood and was on the 101 Freeway at one point.

I recall getting a ticket in my new Red Trans Am in Laurens county GA going 66 on I-16 West Bound(during the 55mps speed limit nonsense) I  had just come from a flight physical  at Hunter Army Airfield and was in My Class A's 1st LT Army uniform. I thought he might give me a break..  No way. I think he enjoyed sticking it to me. Probably a former enlisted man who despised a young flashy LT in a sports car. Anyway I made a few phone calls and got it taken care of so no harm no foul. What year was that? Probably 80 something.

Reminds me of the time I was driving from Darlington SC back to Columbia in my '71 Dodge Dart (please don't laugh).  I had just gotten a fancy new "radar detector",  Bearcat was the brand.  I also was doing at least 10 over and that darn new radar detector kept making noise and I thought there was something wrong with it.  Just about that time I saw the cop in the median.  Sure enough he pulled out to track me down.  I slowed right down and pulled that detector off the dash.  He followed right behind me for a couple of miles but didn't pull me over.  Only thing I could figure was that he was a SC fan and liked all the stupid bumper stickers I had on the back of the car.  "Go Gamecocks" and "Rednecks turn orange in the fall".  One thing I'm sure of is that he wasn't a Clemson fan.  That would have been '78 or '79.

Guess we will be seeing that one on the Car Chase channel over on Pluto TV.  Couldn't believe there was a channel dedicated strictly to car chases in the LA area.  Somehow I found myself wasting too much time watching this ridiculous channel, but I guess it's like watching a train wreck.

Is everyone in the Biden Administration clueless?  Who was claiming they would have their landlines taken from their cold dead hands?  In fact, I think people can still get a landline if they want.  Also, of course the implication is that EV's are somehow more technologically advanced...How?

Nope definably in the 80's.  I was already a commissioned officer. I graduated high school in 79, and think I was commissioned in 84 I think it was lifted in 87.

Interesting analysis on Tesla going forward.  I also have noticed that the Tesla offerings are aging quickly with not much in the pipeline.  I also had the chance to study the Tesla CT up close, and I was not impressed.

Except for its effect on Elon Musk, who is largely one of the good guys, I personally don't care if every electric-car company or division goes under.
